Hey everyone,

I just joined, and I firstly wanted to say that it's great to find a community devoted to celicas. I've always loved them, and I'm looking to buy my own 6G next year, and hopefully to swap in a 2nd or 3rd gen 3S-GTE. I'm currently entering grade 12, and while I know im a youngin, I am definitely NOT into the whole rice/ street racing scene that alot of idiots my age are. Anyways, I've been searching alot of buy/sell sites such as autotrader.ca (I'm canadian) and many of the celicas I see are auto. In fact, I could find barely an that were not auto, and I was wondering why that is. The ones I could find in standard were all more expensive (as I'd like ot pay under 10g's if possible, to allow as much money for the swap). Anyways, I was just hoping to get the imput of all you more experienced guys...if I could get some info as to why/ where to look, that'd be great. Hopefully I'll learn alot from this site, so as to be as prepared as possible for my first project car. Thanks.

hello and welcome smile.gif

hmm Autotrader is usually good. Have you checked E-bay? Also check the Buy/Selling forum on here I know a few people are selling their 6gc's.

As an Auto driver I can tell you that you should def keep looking for a manual if thats what you want, and a GT for that matter, esp if you plan on swapping because its less work to swap into a GT wink.gif

Thanks alot, yea that "feasible engine swap" sticky in the other forum was very very useful! I'm certainly gonna look for GT, but I could not stand to drive auto (no offense to anyone). Even though I'm a relatively new driver, I can't stand the feeling of not being able to grab the gears.

Celica's just sell for a lot more in Canada. And I'm taking the currency change into effect to. Good luck with the buying. Don't underestimate getting an ST auto, and swapping in a 4ag(z)e and manual tranny that comes with it. It's a frequently overlooked swap, but it looks really good to me.

Not only Celicas in the US are more common Auto tranny. Almost every car in the US is Auto transmission.

Last time i was in the US every car i had seen had a Auto.
In some posts on the forum i have even read that some ppl cant drive a "stick".
In my country you have to take the Driving Exam in a 4/5 door Sedan/Hatchback with a Manual Transmission. Even in cars like BMW/Mercedes or Audi that i have driven Auto transmission did not feel as good as driving a car with stick. Dont like them flipper panels/button on the wheel. I am oldskool smile.gif

We don't get GT4's in Canada. We got all tracs, but they're expensive and rare, and 5th gen. I actually live in Thunder Bay Ontario right now, and have for about 5 years, but I'm going to university at SFU (in Vancouver). When I move back, you can bet I'll be combing the autotrader! Thanks alot for the imput, guys.

if you could get a gt4 in canada, we all would probably have crossed the border and bought one for ourselves.
