Okay my girlfriend bought me this great tachometer for my birthday and it matches all the other gauges but I can't figure out where to put it. I've seen it on the left side of the steering wheel and it looks good but I've also seen it on the right and that makes it look good also. So where should I place it?
Any suggestions would really help as frustration is getting to me.

the standard guage already has a tach... why would you want 2 in the car?

i'd put it on the left of the cluster, in the corner, so it's outta the way while you're driving. putting it on the right (in the middle of the dash) would make it seem gaudy and outta place, also while obstructing your view.

w/ regards to Chrobis, the only reason for a 2nd "monster" tach in a car is for better viewing of the RPMs while racing, so that you barely have to take your eyes off the road to glance over at the tach, OR if you have somehow altered your redline, and the stock tach does not go high enough, or you just want a new one w/o the redline on the face..

or, it's just for looks. smile.gif.

i was gonna do that w/ my swap, but i found the JDM tach that has the redline right where i need it, and that should work out just fine in my stock cluster. smile.gif.

I mounted mine on the left side just to keep it outta the way, why put one in? I like the look plus I noticed I drive w/my left arm over the wheel and right on the shift, and it's nice not to have to check out the red line all the time. I hooked the back light to a switch, so it's not on all the time buggn' the hell outta me...so yeah...

A good reason to put a monster tach in is like John said, so you can keep your eyes on the road more. Another good reason is because tachs are not calibrated from the factory so they are pretty much always wrong. Not by much, but they are wrong.

When I get one, I'm gonna put it on the right side of the cluster pretty much in front of the hazard light button. Like they did on the supra in That One Movie!

When I swap in the BEAMS, it has a redline of 7400. The 5SFE has a redline of 6250. That's more than a 1000 rpm difference, I'm gonna want a tach that's gonna tell me exactly where I'm at in the RPM field. Also, it'd be good for tuning purposes using the Haltech.
