I just got an apexi safc-ii used for my car. After looking at the how to for not that long i realized that the 1994-1995 ST Celicas have different wiring for the ECU than the 1996-1998. I've looked around for instructions and have consulted my Chilton book (which seems to make things more confusing) and havent been able to find anything. Can someone PLEASE give me instructions/ecu pin outs for my 1996 ST?
THANKS

EDIT: Sorry, might want to move this to wiring.

I DID. All the colors that you say are different on my ecu. Are just the colors of the wires different or do they do differnt functions? (e.g. OBD II vs. OBD 1)

Yeah i know, the ecu pinpoints are different on 96-98 STs. I actually compaired wiring diagrams and figured most of it out. I'll post what I found when I get a chance.

However, what I do need to know now is which wire I need to attach my RPM sensor wire to (the green one). In the diagrams its not specific enough. I suppose its just the tach wire (- coil) but I dont want to run a cable to my engine bay.

I take it back, I'm not sure if I did the wiring right, I put my keys in the ignition and the safcii wouldn't turn on.

Please, anyone who has installed safc I or II on a 96-98 Celica help me. Or, if you have any ecu wire diagrams other than the chilton ones, those would be helpful too. thanks.

Sounds like you don't even have the correct power or ground. Did you wire both grounds within 1 cm of each other? What wires are you still not sure of, the RPM?

YAY. I answered all of my own questions. My S-afc II is in and im running 550c injectors. Should be about another week before I get in my turbo.

People with 96-98 ST celicas: THE WIRING IS DIFFERENT FOR YOUR CAR THAN IN THE WRITE-UP. If you guys tell me you are interested, I will do a writeup on the wiring for your cars.
