I thought some of you may be interested in this part. Green filters uses woven cotton instead of gauze. This gives the filteration surface a thinner profile and allows for deeper pleats so you wind up with more surface area. They also use better production techniques to keep that rubber around the edge from seeping onto the filter itself. I have K&N drop-ins on both of my cars today but would probably go with this type next. Sure, it's probably worth .2 hp or somethin but I still like an easy improvement. Check them out at greenfilterusa.com. It's part #2093 for the US market GT and runs about 80 bucks.

If they are so much better at filtering, then how come everytime someone runs tests with these things they don't come out so well? The cotten type that is.

actually they don't filter nearly as much as a typical paper filter...hence why they flow better wink.gif
but an actual LAB test of oil by a fellow VW guy yeilded NO NEGATIVE affects of the lesser filteration

i've been running k&n and will continue too

You can't go wrong with a K&N. I just thought someone may want to add it to the parts data base. It's pretty comprehensive.
