only st that are 94-95 can be manually retard the timing on the 96-97 have obd2 so you need a msd or similar devise to retard the timing through the ecu
now the 6 retard in timing i did on the dyno which suited my set-up the best but it can very from car to car its best to find out on the dyno but -6 is what i told streetracing when i sold him my old 7afte kit so if you want to street tune try a similar setting then check your plugs they hold the answer -------------------- yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte

Man, I have to run base timing...if I retard it 5 or more, the car boosts much quicker but gets lazy off the line at the same time...like it bogs down but the turbo spools way earlier. I run 12 PSI and it does not detonate or anything so it's fine. Do you guys remember where to get the oil line restrictor? Somebody posted a link not too long ago...it was another kind of restrictor, not the gas/nitrous Autometer one.

Oh man, thanks a bunch, dude!
Hey, which Lambo kits where you organizing a group buy from? I am convinced of the GT Factory ones as welding is cake to me. But they're a grand...WOW...I gotta start saving 'cause I need them for February when I go home on vacation. If the ones you were organizing are $800, that's $200 less...not much difference but still, it's $200 less. -------------------- |

I use normal NGK V-Power Grade 8 spark plus and mine works flawlessly. Plus, at $2.50 a pop, they are inexpensive to replace when tuning the engine. I have been through like 20 sets since I turbocharged the Celi in June 2003, LOL. They last long like any other spark plug, but in my case, I had a serious tuning problem so that's why I went through them so quick.

you do not want to run the oil restrictor that is bad news, I had my car dynoed with the oil restrictor and I actually lost power because the turbo was not getting enough cooling or oil for proper lubrication for spinning.

actually on the T series turbos you HAVE to use a restrictor.....
reason being is that the stock oil pressure on the 7afe is much higher then the maxium oil pressure to be used on a turbo.... so you must use the restrictor to decrease the oil pressure at the turbo to be within the limits of the turbo...otherwise you'll blow your main seal on the turbo....and spend more money repairing your turbo.... |
