just a thought here. how about we try to get this website to another level....I was thinking . there are alot of members here and if we did like a project on an elected car occasionally I think it would be fun. I am talking about like a 1 dollar donation from everyone to help do an engine swap or something. If we got a dollar or two from everyone then we could do it and then show progress and updates frequently . just a thought though . With as many members as we have, I dont think it would be to hard to collect a dollar or more.Think about it we would pay a dollar or 5 or whatever and we would be able to say that it is a 6g.net project car.

its a good idea but realistically theres only about 20-25 people who really post and would donate $1 let alone $5. $100-$150 towards an engine swap is hardly a dent... thats like... almost 1/2 the cost of a clutch.

Good point K2. But I was thinking of something along that line too. Its something to help the site itself. I know that rack space doesn't come cheap and that Coomer is limited in what he can do because of this being a free site, but if we donated that same dollar to Coomer to upgrade the site and add some off the things that we all want. I.E. chat rooms, media center, some videos of track runs. This stuff doesn't come cheap but it is something that the hard core users of the site would love to see. You never know

well you right I am just looking for something to help put this site on the map . to get all of the 6th gen traffic . you gotta admit it would be cool to see someone get a engine because of us though .maybe its just not realistic. I will throw like 10 bucks towards something

Upgrading the site sounds like a sweet idea. I really like the video idea. How much would it cost to up the site to something like that? I think we could make a chatroom on aim for us and that would be free We could just post the room name on the site.

Its an idea yes, but u gotta think - whose going to do this work? wheres the car goign to be kept. I live in NY - thats way out there compared to some of you guys in KS and MO or CA. I dont think people will be donating to something they will never see in person, let alone drive, which is the basic point of doing ne thing. I dont wanna sound selfish but i gotta keep it real, all my extra cash goes straight to my car, which im going to be owning and driving and going to shows in, so i dont think i would want to donate anything more than $10 to something like that - and thats not nearly enuf to do anything except some tire valve LED's.
I'm not being a dick - just keeping it real. It would be cool - just wont ever happen. -------------------- |

That would be pretty sweet. Make a new vid every meet and then post it. It will probably get alot more people to go to the meets too.

I'll talk to my host, and see if they'll allow me to host a few high quality videos, and then maybe we could start a downloads section. I have a couple cool ideas for wallpapers that could go in a downloads section too. I actually have a whole bunch of ideas(such as the group buy section that I've promised but have been too busy to implement), but I graduate friday the 6th, and then I'll have so much more free time on my hands to work on the site because I'll only be working full-time, and won't have to worry about schol and stuff

I can host the videos. Just post some more information on here. I have awesome bandwidth (Server is on a OC3 backbone) and I get as much as I need. I also have unlimited webspace so just send them my way.
