Yeh ok I have fallen victim to the freshman 15, to those of you who dont know what it is, its the extra 15lbs you gain during your first year of college. mines from tons of beer and being a lazy ass but thats done I am out of school for a semester and I want to get skinny again. I've never had to really work out before so what should I do to drop my spare tire. I dont want to give up beer thats for sure. Which is better Running or Sit ups? what do you guys do?

QUOTE(Redline_Racer @ Jan 7, 2006 - 12:24 AM) I dont want to give up beer thats for sure. Alcohol has 7 Kcalories per gram, and Fat has 9 Kcalories per gram. You’re almost drinking fat. Both Carbs and Proteins have less than half of that per gram. Alcohol also makes fat gather more at the stomach area for some reason. I can't remember exactly why it does that, but it really does. You will continue to loose your ability to digest food and process it so you won't accumulate so much body fat. If you’re a young freshman, you need to be in the best shape you can because it's going to get harder and harder as you age. Running is best for burning calories. Any high level exercise that lasts more than 20 min is good. But it's hard to workout when you’re dehydrated and poisoned from alcohol. -------------------- Live Free, Be Happy

Too much parting will make u fat in college. You can make up for it by carrying a laptop that weighs over 10 lbs, text books that weigh 20 lbs and a bunch of other stuff. So far, by bag weighs nearly 50 lbs, has everything I need from computer to paper and it sucks carrying it around, but at the end all the drinking and eating that I have gone through. I still weigh 180 lbs since I got out of H.S, but then again, my shoulders are pumped from those 3 years of that 50-60 pound bag carrying.

I gained 13 pounds this last year. *dies* But it wasnt because of partying or w/e. It was because I started eating out A LOT. So I have this lovely gut now.
My fiance and I run 2 miles, 3 times a week. I drink tons of water, and eat a lot of negative calorie foods. http://www.healthrecipes.com/negative_calorie_foods.htm Keep in mind, you have to eat right as well as exercise. You will find a lot of information here if you're serious about losing weight. http://inch-aweigh.com/ -------------------- |

hmmm i lost wieght first this first semester. probably because i live in an apartment with no damn food ever! running is my favorite activity. its one of those things you hate when youre a beginner but love after a while. everybody i know hates running. if you stick with it though, theres just something cool about going for a 5 mile jog just for the hell of it. doesnt matter what you do really though as long as you maintain it. and if your pretty out of shape, dont fall victim to the number one killer of consistency. too many people i know try to much too fast.

the only way to lose it is sell your celica, and use the $3000 for lyposuction. Otherwise your gonna be fat your entire life, there is no way to lose weight.
