You cant really reduce too much weight without ending up gutting alot of stuff......but a good place to start is by taking out your spare from the trunk, as long as you dont mind not having it. Then maybe getting lighter wheels, CF hood.....uhh.....and not loading your trunk up too much with heavy audio stuff like oversized sub enclosures and amps that weigh a ton.

pul the carpet outta your car, carefully...youll have to take the seats out. you will find big nasty bubbly sheets of stuff same color as your car, this is sound deadening, and it heavy heavy, so if you dont mind the niose, grab a hammer, chisel, and heat gun and pull that shi* out! My friends car had 45 pounds of the stuff in it!!

i have the 60/40 splits in my coupe, and there are bolts on the bottom of the back rests, and two? bolts on bottom of the bottom part of the seat, it takes about 15 mins to get it out =) its really easy

15 pounds?! Then whats the point of taking it out then? 15 lbs won't do anything.

when i put in my custom CAI i pulled prolly a good 10 maybe 15 lbs from the airboxes. plus it free'd up the engine bay a ****load. if ya do this you'll be increasing power and taking out some wait and it'll only cost ya like $90 if you use the "how to" article from this site. good luck

actually the rear seat assemblies weigh closer to 30lbs. I took mine out for reupholstering and i weighed them when i got bored. i can tell a difference because i have my whole rear gutted. no plastics, carpet, spare tire, jack, seats. it all adds up when you get down to it. its not really worth it though. cause now i cant make sweet love in the back of my car without getting poked in the back by something metal. then again i am usually the only one back there!

Someone needs to link to that article where they chopped up the car lol. I can't remember much about it, but the car was white (a ricey civic or something) and i think the article was called "from zero to hero".
Then again i'm pretty drunk atm I cant be sure ![]() |
