For my celica? Show.

The way I look at it, $5000 can either get me an engine swap and 220 horsepower, or it can get me 400 horse and 500 ft. lbs of torque in another car.  *shrug*

Yea but your car wouldn't look as good as a celica. Infact, I bet it'd be pretty ghetto for $5,000. And 220 horse in a sleeper celi is definitly enough I think.

It wont be a show car, but it wont be ghetto either. I've got friends who do body work.. I get the carcas of a vehicle for $200 (maybe an AMC javelin or something like that, even considering an S-10 Blazer) I drop $500 into a 1976 Caddy for the donor engine.. 500 cubic inches, and only 46,000 miles, the engine is mint. The rest of the cash goes into tranny, custom exhaust, suspension, wheels + tires, and paint. The rest is all little crap that can be done over time... billet grill, sound system, cam shaft, headers, fuel injection kit, shift kit, chrome this and that, etc..

*slaps him around with a Injen Intake* d00d, you may be able to get a blazer "pimped" out er somefin like that. But to see a nice clean cut celica, pushin atleast 220HP is a nice lil sleeper. Not to mention the possibilities of how much the engine can actually handle. Also, to steam some ricers off by whippin their shiate show buckets of vinyl.

I still don't know whether I'm gonna bother with the engine on this car. The way I see it is its kinda pointless to go with the 3s, I used to want to, but who wants a turbo FF car? I mean, I like FF, but I want AWD! Soo, If its even slightly possible I'm going to source an Aussie GT4. I have been doing research, and its completely illegal in every way to import one from jap - scratch that option. I found out that there was 88 (or there abouts) gt4's legally imported to AU sometime between 94-99 and sold officially through toyota. I saw one with 80,000 kms on it for $28,000 (AU). I paid 17.5 for my 94 Celica.

So I'm going to keep my eyes open, do a few little mods to this car, like intake, exhaust, wheels, low springs, shocks and some sound, then in a couple of years try to get a gt4.

Hey craqspider, you're strategy seems a little ... strange.

Well, when I had my ST i was only going show cause we all know how fast those are. But now that Im going to be getting a gt its back to what the ST looked like then as soon as I can save up the cash its time for the 3s swap. But thats after I have gotten the miles up there on the 5s.

Erm just to point it out - an ST with a 3s would go just as hard as a GT with a 3s. - Anyways good luck, I hope I beat you to it biggrin.gif
