Aite fellas I'm almost ready pick up my motor for my 94 celica GT. I'm lookin into getting a 90-93 jdm 3s-gte out of a mr2. I've read somewhere a while ago that the motor drops in using the same motor mounts. Is that true? On top of that I've been trying to do a check list making sure that I have everything to do this swap. I'm goin to attempt to do this swap with my friend who works at a garage, but I feel like I'm still forgetting something. So what I'm asking is for those who've done the swap if they could post up what measures they took to do this swap.

If you do a search for a thread titled "3SGTE swap checklist" or something like that, by myself, I wrote a good list there.

The MR2 3SGTE is a little harder to swap into the Celica, get one from a Celica GT4. The GT mounts will work as long as you are using the stock tranny, and grind some off the passenger mount.

The hardest part is the wiring, but I can do that for you, the cost is $350 plus shipping.

Well the mr2 clip is entirely different especially the mr2 turbo rear clip. You definately want the gt4/alltrac clip it makes things a hell of alot easier. One thing you want to also consider is what tranny your using. Some people have trouble with the s54 tranny (GT Tranny) The best to get is the e153 off of an mr2 turbo. Check the 3sgte swap check list it has everything. Wiring is painful Im not going to lie there. Its the hardest part of the swap. Get your wiring harness made by somebody like tweak. He does a great job and it makes things very very very very easy.

don't forget some things are on the wrong side of the motor
you'll need to relocated the alternator, dipstick and so forth i believe it was in a thread previously in F/I forum try searching over there for it lagos had a pretty good list of the needed things about the mr2 clip

You see I'd love to get a GT4 motor but one I'm on a little budget, two I found a site that's selling the motor, tranny, ECU and axles for $1400. Found it on Engineslandinc.com

You can easily get a GT4 engine for the price. Check out www.venus-auto.com and www.gspeedcorp.com

a clip is a front cut of the car
