When doing the swap, is it necessary to swap over all of the brake lines from the GT to the ST or can I just use the exsisting lines, valves, etc, or Do I need to swap over everything? I am asking this because some disc and drum brake set-ups typically use different fluid pressures and stuff, so I was wondering if there is any difference between the celica drums lines/valves, and the disc lines/valves.
Thanks, and yes, I did read the "how to" but that doesn't answer my question... |

The proportioning valve controls the rear brake pressure. Yes, the GT uses a higher rear brake pressure than the ST, but I dunno if the GT P-valve will work well on the ST unless you change the front brakes to the GT too. GT front brakes are actually bigger than the ST. My guess is most people would just leave the ST P-valve in......

That's what I figured also. Only risk is losing braking power in the rear, but the rear isn't a really big deal anyways. Hmm... we'll see how it goes...

actually, i don't think the GT brakes in the front are bigger. where did you get that info. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

i did that swap and they work fine. Just leave the ST p-valve
the brakes should work fine. let me know if you have any questions on it |

The front GT brake diameter is 275mm vs 255mm for the ST. Pad area is also a bit bigger for the GT. Got these specs from the New Car Feature for the 94 Celica. Every time Toyota replaces a car model or makes major changes to a car model, it publishes these guides for the press. |

to anyone who did the rear disc conversion where did u get the parkin' brake cable and internal brake components?? where can i find it beside a junk yard??

the only place i can think of besides the junk yard would be the dealer. But your looking at paying a lot more money . I got mine from a junkyard in Sunvalley , CA. I basicly got the the whole hub assembly and the parking brake cable came with it.
