Does the 3SGTE engine pulll G forces... I read somewher sometime that only 3 toyota engines pull over 1G stock..and i was wondering if the 3s was one of them.

Pull G's? What exactly do you mean by that? I've driven cars with 3SGTEs, but I don't think I pulled any G's. Do you mean accelearation that puts you back in your seat that equals greater than 1G? Or is that a skid pad rating thing? I've pulled 6 G's in airplanes before, but that's a little different.

I think he's wondering how many G's can the engine handle without having any oil issues.

LOL lagos i know that feeling...I meant like hard acceleration if it equalled 1G or more.

Bigal

PS 6G's in an airplane must be pretty nutz.

id guess if thats true about the 3 stock engines that can pull more than 1g force, id guess 3sgte, 2jzgte, and 4agze

by Gs he probably means "greater than the gravitational acceleration" which is 9.80665 m/s².

so if 1 mile = 1.609 kms, then ¼ mile = 402.25 meters.

and if d=ut+½at²

then 402.25m=½(9.8m/s²)t²
402.25/½(9.8)=t²
t²=82.09s
t=9.06s

therefore, the engine must be fast enough to pull a car to run at or under 9.06s in a quarter mile run.
(of course, the mass of the car would greatly impact the amount of Nm or hp of the engine, thus heavier car = more hp)

biggrin.gif tongue.gif i luv translational physics

now, i wonder which toyotas run under 9.06s stock??

The way you state it - none. Except mabye in 1st/2nd gears with GREAT tires.

When talking about cornering - maybe more than 1G. Probably the 2zz, 1jz and 3rd gen 3s-gte (revised oil pan + pickup). I know somebody that blew 3 3s-fe motors by cornering and accellerating.

Watch that oil pressure gauge!! smile.gif

i think he ment.... to go fast you have to spend 1g or more (aka 1,000$ or more) . he was trying to follow up to my joke about how 3-4Gs (3-4,000$) will get pulled out of your pocket if you want a fast celica.

theorically yes but..
our cars doesnt have an electric motor that can give same acceleretion all time..
we have different accelelerion at different rpm's
i belive that my car pulls higher that 1 G arround 5000-6000 rpm.
i always thinked of installing a g-meter in my car to test it once. rolleyes.gif

That assumes a uniform acceleration. I would guess that our cars have a better acceleration in lower speeds.

This is correct. It can be done - but its "gonna cost ya"

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

3rd Gen 3S-GTE has oil squirters in the block walls, one assumes to help prevent oil starvation....

obtaining g forces in a turn can be done with a ford festiva. A straight line is another story.

why worry about it, a 6th gen is really not going to pull a lateral g. no way, the suspension was never made for it.

A lateral g? A 6th gen with an upgraded suspension and wide tires could easily pull a lateral g. We are talking about the in-line force applied from torque - not a lateral g.
