as far as power goes, a turbo motor responds well to a free flowing 3'' piping. You can either go Blitz nur spec or a custom pipe + muffler, anything works as long as you pump the gases out. (Of course sound levels and emission laws can also change these choices) the clutch would depend on what your expecting as far as power goes, if you want to keep it seemingly stock than a stage 1 spec clutch would do fine but what are your goals with the celica?
Hope it helps, good luck with your turbo swap. -Nathan |

Hey guys appreciate the feed back...To be honest with u man 375hp would be the most that i would ever think about. This is a daily driver. I bought the engine not the clip(motor, ecu, tubo with intercooler, wiring harness, and tranny) Found it for around $1200.00... Let's hope for your sake that you really did get everything you need... You also need the intercooler water pump and water lines, heat exchanger, extra wiring for the pump, correct MAP sensor (this is KEY!!), ingnitor coil, A/C idle-up solenoid (if you want/have A/C still), and a few other little things. Finding any of these parts by itself will be hell... You will also want to start investigating what you will do with the transmission/axle situation. -Charlie -------------------- 2003 Subaru WRX Wagon

If you buy just the motor, you will be missing a TON of important parts - MAP sensor, AFM, coil, ignitor, mounts (possibly), wiring, ecu, etc... All of those parts will come with a complete clip. You have to use all the correct electronics and parts to run the motor. Very little from the 5s-fe will work with/on a 3s-gte. -Charlie -------------------- 2003 Subaru WRX Wagon

If you get an st205 engine and put a 3 inch exhaust on it, you will get major boost spikes / creep.....the standard turbo`s wastegate cannot cope with the gas flow allowed by a 3 inch system....2.5 inch is more than enough......on a standard turbo.
To run a 3 inch exhaust without any problems or a restrictor, you`ll need a turbo with an external or gas flowed wastegate. I`m running over 300BHP now, with a 2.5 inch exhaust and a standard clutch (I can still spin all 4 wheels) This post has been edited by Insanity-74: Jun 14, 2006 - 1:53 PM |
