yey, almost talked my lass into us doing this instead of a summer holiday next year. whooppee.
she said as long as its not germany then shes ok. I think italy would be her desire. OK how about we determine a list of possible places to visit and would we be looking at just going to 1 place or maybe having a week off and going round a few different countries? Its bound to be along drive from the uk so I would prefer to have a several day trip rather than a 2 day one. How about people from different countries, provide a brief paragraph on why the trip should visit them? What landmarks / point of interest are there to see and do? Maybe this all sounds a bit of overkill but I'm sure I won't be the only person who is going to have to sell the trip to their other half and why they can't have a summer holiday in the sun but can sit in the car for several hundred miles!! |

Vsideboy and all the others... obviously I perfectly imagine that someone that is going to make such a trip, is not going to stay here for the 2 meeting days... and in Italy there are many things to see... Parma is: - 45 minutes from Maranello... Ferrari... - 1 hour from the Cinque Terre on the Tirrenian sea - 1 hour from Forte Dei Marmi - Tuscany - 1.5 hours from Rimini - 2 hours from Florence - 2 hours from Venice .... and Parma itself is a very beautiful city... So there are many place you could visit the days before or after the meeting... -------------------- Wolf_Tm (Parma;Italy) [Silat-Kali]

i think we all agree to say that we are open for ideas:) 1 year looks as a long time but i think is just enough to make a perfect plan all ideas are welcome and plans can be adjusted.

OK sophies sold on the idea! although shes a bit distressed bout not getting a summer holiday but having a quick look at petrol costs of £500 for the san marino trip there and back in my 2.0 GT (I pity those GT4 guys!) then I reckon its gonna end up way more than a summer hoiday!!
I agree with recycle that as some of us are taking a week off work then maybe 1 or 2 of our italian counterparts could do the same and become our tour guides? I think touring a few places and getting a few beers down our necks will be a good laugh. This post has been edited by vsideboy: Aug 9, 2006 - 5:23 PM |

There is enough space in front of my home !!! I love it when a plan comes together!! BTW car looks sweet!! OK then, so we know that its going to be italy as our destination. So between us can we come up with a list of things that will need to be done by people coming from different countries? As I (And possibly others) have never driven to a different country before so some help would be appreciated. Add to the list if you think of anything. 1. Car insurance will need changing to incorporate driving abroad. 2. This post has been edited by vsideboy: Aug 14, 2006 - 8:59 AM |

1. Car insurance will need changing to incorporate driving abroad. (ask your insurance about this.. most EU insurances cover u 3rd party in whole EU + switcherland + romania + bulgraria)
2. use http://local.live.com/ its a good way to find direction to imola 3. its better to go to imola convoys and not everyone alone... for example french (and spanish) owners can join the english... german can join the swedish and so on... so its better for any one interested joining this meet to tell us in advance to manage these convoys. (i think is better like this... more people mean better prices at hotels and ships where needed and there is more safe when travelling more people together in a foreign country)) -------------------- |

yeah I agree with the convoys and meeting up with people from different countries.
Plus it means more people to get lost at once haha seriously though it makes it better if theres a breakdown and stuff like that too. I think its gonna be a really good laugh this trip. |

Recycle... if you, guys, want me to organize the meeting, it's better to make it in PARMA, where I live, NOT Imola: I know everything of the place I live, roads, hotels, restaurant, things to see in city ecc... when I know nothing about Imola ! Ok ? -------------------- Wolf_Tm (Parma;Italy) [Silat-Kali]
