Probably a bad connection somewhere. I could get you the wiring diagrams if you want, but you'd have to be an electrician to use it all. I'd check all the connections around the housing, and if that don't help, I'd almost suggest taking it to your dealer.

i have the same problem,

first, make sure the trunks open
second, make sure the switch is in the right direction
third, make sure the lightbulb isnt burnt out/broken
fourth, check the fuse
fifth(where my problem lies) just hit the thing a few times with your fist and it usually turns on.

I just fixed mine last night. The wiring connector for it is a pice of crap. Take the panel off, or loosen it enough to stick your hand behind it. Once back there you need to release the clips that hold the light housing in(having it out of the panel will make it easier). Once you've done that you will should find that the wiring connector is not there,if the connector is not on there reach your hand behind the panel and find it(it will be hanging). plug the connector up and test to see if it works. You may need to put some electrical tape over the connector to hold it in place better. The connector doesn't hold well. On my car somebody had a sytem and the vibration knocked that connector off although i could see how the thing could just fall off from natural vibration. If after you get everything put back together and it still doesn't work then you can cuss me all you like biggrin.gif
