IF your boot just tore - most likely nothing got in -
what is a better venue - your own original axle rebooted vs unknown remanufactured (could be well abused before remanufacturing, cheap labor, inferior rebuilt parts - you get what you pay for)? BTW, toyota kit including inner and outer boots per axle is less than $40 from dealer. |

reman is just fine.
to put on an OEM boot you have to do all the steps involved in replacing the axle, and know how to take apart the cv joints (you'll need a GOOD set of snap ring pliers), a funnel, the CV grease, a good way to remove ALL of the old grease (probably about 6 cans of brake cleaner) and alot of time, frustration, and mess...also the special pliers to close the bands that seal the CV boots. -------------------- |

i just ordered a whole new axle, it was only 70 bucks from carquest, i had changed my rims and found out that the cv boot was tore, but i wasn't sure how long it had been like that, so i don't feel like checking everything out, they just need my old core and i pay the 70 and got the whole new thing, anyways if your boot does finally wear out, then you might as well just by the axle because you'll probably need one of those soon
