its applied between the pads and caliper and on the caliper bolts and slides. it helps to reduce unwanted noises and keep things moving smoothly. wherever theres metal to metal contact you put it in the drum brakes.
its usually a thick silicone grease, but white lithium can work. generally though, brake quiet works better between the caliper and pad. its usually a bright color and dries rubbery. -------------------- |

yea. take out the pads, spray the brake quiet or "brake lube" to the BACK of the pad (part that sits against the caliper) let it dry or whatever the stuff says to do (usually it is reinstalled sticky if it is the brake quiet stuff) then put it back in the caliper.

i like using the red-orange stuff from crc. apply on back of pad, wait til it dries, stick back in.

theyre brand new... or they were... i had em on, they sounded great, but the next day they started squeaking like ****. its not just one of the brakes either... before my friend put them on for me, he was like "if anything happens to em ill buy u new ones myself..." and after that happened he was like... well thats normal with metallic pads.

LOL, thats not normal. did you bed them in properly? did you remove the old pad film from the rotor? if the rotors were new, did you clean the oil off of them?

make 10-12 stops from 20-5, 30-10, 40-10, 50-10 with 3 minute cool downs bewteen each stop. see if that clears up the noise.

you'd be surprised what properly bedding the pads can do to make noises go away.
