I think when people say it's a "chick car", means that they always see a female driving the car, it's really rare seeing a guy driving the car.

Around LA, specially San Gabriel, only OLD females drive celica... ****ing all beat up too... When I actually see a dude driving a celica, usually it's all fixed up, all bad ass and ****.

i see A LOT of females driving Porsches so i guess Porsches are chick cars?

The Celi 6gen is a real 'Chick Magnet' rather than a chick car!

In the south UK, I see mostly guys driving in Black (like myself) or White cars, Women in silver or red or other metallics.

Check out these stats - Japan's ultimate 'chick magnet' car flys the coop

I bought my celica from a guy. 100% stock. though, his sister was driving it the last year or so... but it still belonged to him.

Most chicks drive 7th gen Celicas, I think that's why people call our cars chick cars. There's about 3 7th gens at my schools and guess what, their owners are women (I'm the only one with a 6th gen, male BTW). Here's what I believe, 6th gen and below are men's Celicas (no offense to the women 6GC owners wink.gif), 7th gen is considered a chick car.

Same thing here man, theres 3 7th gens at my school and all of the drivers are girls, I have the only 6th gen and yet its still considered a chick car cause of the 7th gens. rolleyes.gif

I did in what I thought was a chick car, did you not read it because you didnt want to?

Ill summerize agian

1) Underpowered
2) Feminine Styling
3) FWD (just not my thing)
4) Not agreesive enough to throw into corners
5) -this one is more of a personal thing- A mirror under the sun visor.

the s2000 is a chick car to, not by its mechanical standards, but its visual styling. Doesnt mean i dont like it, just think it supposed to have a chick behind the wheel.

And we are discussing the celica, not a modded celica to the max. And theres nothing wrong with owning a chick car, I just dont think if a car rolled up next to you, you could "grunt" it away. But then agian, when I was 10 my mother owned a 1969 GTO, SWEEET car.

1) i wouldnt consider an underpowered car a "chick" car, cuz most of the earlier model cars are pretty much all underpowered INCLUDING the 5.0 liter Mustang and i would NEVER consider that a chick car. I think there are some earlier model Porsches that dont put out much hp either.

2) feminine styling is COMPLETELY opinion
- A turboed Beetle (stock turbo) completely contradicts ur first 2 points
- So which would be more of a chick car...a pink Civic w/ purple flower decals that puts out 300 hp...or a black civic with silver racing stripes that puts out 130 hp?

3) and ur other points are still invalid IMO.

Chick cars and Ricers are the most commonly overused words ever and is mis-used too often.

both civic are chick cars, read what i said NON modded cars. a mod doesnt take away the fact its still a civic when the lights go out. and bringing in age into it doesnt really work. Compare all cars of the same era, dont compare apples to oranges technology has come a long way.

I like agressive lines, decent ability to hold and use power, grunt. Color doesnt matter, decals dont matter, we are discussing make and model not frilly stuff.

And as overused as they are, they still maintain their defination. A ricer, someone who pretneds something their car is not, people who race non race cars, altezza tails and sushi rack spoilers dont make you fast. If you have the immature attitude and speed around, in my eyes your a ricer.

lol it doesnt matter really if its a chick car i know alot of females like my car and admire it so do alot of guys they admit its good looking and the rarity of it is a plus you get used to people turning their heads to look at our cars. we all know our celi's sexy.

I think most people see most small japanese cars as "chick's cars" whereas most european and american cars are "guy's cars" there's exceptions of course. I don't think that people consider an NSX to be a chick's car, and a VW beetle is definately not a guy's car. (from what I've seen, most people who drive VW beetles are preppy high school girls, or older women who used to be preppy high school girls.)

I couldn't tell you exactly what would make a chick car a chick car, and a guy car a guy car. so I guess this post was pointless...

I can agree...the celica (7th Gen) was made to catch the girls' interest and it was actually made and built to the grls' likings...basically to attract more women buyers than guys...true for the Acura RSX too...i just like the 6Gen b/c of the looks (curviness) and it resembles the older brother...the supra...

This Thread needs to die, PLZ!!!

It is all based on personal opinion which is never something that can be argued. I'm sure a lot of chicks like the G6 and I'm sure a lot of guys do too.

This thread is ridiculous and horribly, horribly sexist.

Cars don't possess gender. They are inanimate objects.

End of story.
