im just asking cause i think the mr2 is faster and this guy says the 300z would rape the mr2

this is the info i found is it correct?

The fastest a 300ZX TT does stock is 0-60 in 6.7 seconds, and 1/4 in 14.8 sec stock.

an MR2 T 245 horsepower STOCK does 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, and can I remind u that it is STOCK!!!!!!!!

I dont believe the info is correct, the usdm mr2 is only 200hp stock, and I think that the 300zx would have a shorter 0-60

in stock condition the 300zx would win, but not by much

the 245 HP version is JDM, the USDM mr2t has 200 HP and runs a 14.6-14.7 sec 1/4 mile (as tested by car and driver). so therefore compared to the info your friend supplied you about the 300zx, the MR2t would barely win. AND on top of that, the mr2t was advertised in 1991 as having a 0-60 time in a blistering 6.1 seconds.

however your info was incorrect, i looked it up and a 300ZX turbo runs the 1/4 mile in 13.8 and 0-60 in 5.2, so he is right. it would womp a mr2t

Well, the 300ZX would win (as stated above), but the MR2 is a lighter platform and the weight distribution is a bit better (I think). Even though the 300ZX is a more heavier vehicle, it just has more power than the MR2. Either one is a nice car and both have mad-potential. I, myself, have had a hankering for a 300ZX as of lately, but the Celica will always come first. Good luck and keep us informed!

Yeah, I'm gonna keep the Celica as a winter beater. But the Z just screams "summer car" with T-tops and all.

yea, if you were to try driving a mr2 (especially turbo version) in the winter, then you better make sure you have full coverage insurance, and your will prepared.

my friend had the new tiburon, the v6spec one and he took out his rear seat and that made the weight distribution like 70 front 30 rear, totally f'ed up the handling...kids these days biggrin.gif

haha exactly, it is just as important about weight distrobution as it is being light.

how heavy are those seats?

it must have either been heavy seating or the car has back seats with a lot of leg room.

i dont really like the idea of removing car seats to save weight. as well as stripping the interior of the car.

it makes the car look really trashy
