So, after talkin it through with alot of my friends, parents, family, etc. I decided that Im gonna keep my celica. Im gonna still be taking it off the road for a few months. So i decided that while its off the road, and im working im gonna put some $ into the car to get it back up to par of where i want it. So i decided to do a list of things i need to get done with the car. My goal is to have it all done by august 1st. So...pretty much, i need to get all of this done in the next 5 months or so.

Tint windows, re-upholster/re-cover rear seats, fix seat back *amp pulled the backing of my rear seats off cuz of its weight*, move amp *obvious reasons*, get oem strut bar covers for rear, weld up e-brake bracket *part of it got ripped off and i gotta tig weld it back into place*, clean up/paint calipers, buy new/used rear controll arms, recondition controll arms, install control arms, get new window gaskets and install them, get new drivers side vent, re-paint interior plastics, get jdm tails, get jdm projectors, fix wobbel in shifter *gotta tighten down the bolts*, new sway bar end links for front, get new wheel bearings on all 4 corners, wrap up exhaust and intake piping in heat wrap, re-vamp intake, fix door rust and hatch rust, undercoat car, clean up rear strut bar, get new TRD plate frames, fix paint chips and blemishes, de-badge rear, new front strut bar *probably cusco*, install gauges, buy DCW single pod, paint and install 5th gen mirrors, get new sunroof, re-do headliner

So, the list starts tomorrow....first step stage 3 of my celica. wish me luck

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

so the weather here has been screwin around with me. When i left windsor on Friday, the weathernetwork said it was gonna be +6C on saturday, +8C on sunday and +13C Today. Sure enough, Saturday was more like +1C, yesterday was +3 and today is +6 and raining and best of all...im sick. Woke up this mornin all congested and stuffed up and achy. So, my progress on my car has been minimal. I really didnt get to do any thing thus far. I put the new plate frames on, but thats about it. BUT on saturday I went to this car show called Performance World. Lots of nice cars, and because it was put on by a custom car shop, there was TONS and TONS! of audio and performance stuff on sale for cheap. So i got me some new 6x9 and 6" Kenwood speakers for $70 for both pair. And unfortunatly, i gotta work the rest of the week, but i hope i got some free time after work durin the week or that this coming weekend is gonna b nice out. So ill keep you guys updated on the progress.

i would really REALLY stay away from using those cheap brass fittings to get oil to your sender.
they WILL fatiuge and crack over time.
get a steel fitting from tunertoys.com, or even better would be to locate it on the firewall or somthing and run a SS line to it.

The problem is not the pressure they can hold. It's their strength against vibration and other stresses from the engine. That's alot to be hangin out their on brass. SS would hold up fine.

so i had some extra time in the shop tonight, so i started workin on my car a bit more. I got my OEM strut bar covers yesterday, and decided to install my guages today. I dont have them installed completely, but im gonna have the rest wired up by friday. Only thing that sucks is i have to get a new t-fitting for my oil pressure sending unit because the one i bought doesnt fit for some reason. any ways, enjoy..sorry for the crappy pics
IPB Image

Im gonna keep the bottom 2 guages sittin sideways a bit because i can see the full sweep, but im gonna turn the A/F guage to the top when i pull it apart in a few days to finish it up.

Meh its alright...i was thinkin of doing a 5sfte..but 2 much work..so im gonna just end up doing a 3rd gen 3s swap.

Also afro man, i did that wiring like 2 years ago when i first got the car, im plannin on runnin it thru the grommet under the fender.

But yea, the gauges are harder to read because my sparcos sit about 2 inches taller than OEM seats, so half the gauge face is being blocked. Im gonna turn the A/F guage to the side so its flat...but other than that im gonna keep the other ones to the side a bit.

back on topic..did some work today...replaced 1 of my cv boots, new strut bearings on both sides and checked my swaybar end links. My front links are sooooooooooooooooo freaking shot..lol. Im gonna b ordering a new set from twos are us. I also started to measure up the size of the sway bar mounts on the body for when i start upgrading. I was thinkin of goin with ST sway bars, but i think im just gonna get some of the twosrus end links and get some universal energy poly urethane greaseable mounts. Now next things i gotta do is get me some new rear controll arms, measure up the bushings, get energy suspension bushings, measure up some bushings for my strut rod *mines been squeaky for like 4 months*, gettin my hatch fixed, then i dunno what im gonna b doing from there. I guess it will all depend on how much i get from my tax $.

so heres todays update...over the last 48 hours ive spent $500+ on parts..lol. I bought 2 new wheel bearings ($290 for the pair), new battery ($97), new rotors and pads for the rear (another $110) and i ordered my TwosRus sway bar end links (another $165 USD). Pretty much every thing had to be ordered except the battery, so im gonna have a pretty full trunk as of tomorrow. But since i installed the strut bearing...HUDGE HUDGE HUDGE!!!!! difference in the way the car drives. my passanger side one was completely seized up..and i mean completely seized. So every bump i went over the spring couldnt compress the way it should b able 2, i would turn the wheel and the spring would spin. So driveability right now is soooo much better..now just to tackel the rear end suspension and then brakes next and the car should b almost up to where i want it....comfortable..lol. I also bought me some gold plated battery terminals, but i dont think im gonna use them just due to all of the connections i have running to my battery (subs, fogs, gauges, alarm). But yea, things are comin along well. Im headin back to Toronto on the weekend to slap my nice wheels back on, ill snap a few pics when i get em on.

recent update: Last friday i did my rear brakes, and wheel bearings. Took 3 hours cuz of the stupid wheel bearings. If you see my post about how to installl them, you'll see why. Any ways, so thouse got installed, car drives 1000 times better. So i drove home, get home go to put my good rims on, find my CV boot blew apart. So i tryed to fix it with some zipties...didnt work and ended up blowing my boot completely off. So that kinda sucked, but what sucked more was Nader and i went out to the local Toyota Nation meet, and some duche bag with a crappy paseo hit my door with his and left a nice scratch. But plus side to it, the guy gave me $100 in fresh $20s to fix it..lol. So any ways, havent done much to the car this week because i havent had any time..plus the weathers been weird..it was +20C yesterday and today its -3C and snowing. Yeaaa...gotta love canada. So tonight i spent a bit of time finsihin up the wiring on my gauges. Unfortunatly the t-fitting i made/got for my oil pressure sending unit doesnt work. So i have to wait on gettin a new one. So i installed the volt, and A/F and ran the wires for the Oil pressure but its not hooked up. I also got rid of alot of my old hackjobbed wiring from when i first got my car. So any ways, heres a pic and some videos of the gauges. Im thinkin my O2 might be messed up now because I was gettin a check engine light coming on yesterday and today when i get the gauge hooked up..it keeps bouncing for no reason. So im thinkin my 02 might be on its way out. Good thing i tapped into the main harness not the 02 wire. So any ways, enjoy. Next week, sway bar end links, polyurethane mount bushings, poly urethane strut rod bushings and new tattoo..lol

Just remembered too, i wrapped my short ram in DEI header wrap to keep the temp down *headers are stupid hot even wrapped*. Its nice cuz the engines got a bit more throttel response and it also brought the sound of the short ram down more, so now its mostly the exhaust you here. You'll hear how quiet the car is in the videos.

Bryan

EDIT: First video, the car was shut off for about 4 hours..so the O2 was really cold..hense the no reading.
