 Throttle body/intake, is there a gasket/seal for it? |

Hi,
I just got ATSracing's 2.5" metal throttle intake piece to replace the rubber type that came with the celica 3sgte. It did not come with a gasket or seal to go btn it and the throttle body. I know the OEM rubber one didn't either but the fact that this new one is metal makes me wonder if it would make me leak under boost if I just bolt it on without any type of gasket/seal. I know some of you have the MR2 metal one and I want to know how you guys have it bolted on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. **Edit***: Never mind, I got the answer to this question already. there is a thin gasket from toyota for it. You do need a gasket. If you're having troubles finding an oem one, you can easily make one. Ask the boys at your fav part shop for more info and materials. (or just ask me
 )

Yes, go to AZ and tell him you need some gasket material. Then remove the throttle body and trace its outline on the gasket material. Cut it out, punch a hole in the center for the airflow path and rock it.
The important thing is to spend some time with your knife and make the gasket be as true as possible to the shape of the t-body. -------------------- NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife

it uses a really thin metal gasket. i wouldnt bother trying to make your own for that.

There is no gasket between the TB inlet and the TB since the factory inlet is rubber. His ATS TB inlet is aluminum. Will he need a gasket for the now metal to metal surface.

We're obviously talking about the celica here. Why didn't you mention it was from the MR2? Any way, here is the part number for the little gasket:

i thought everyone knew the aluminum throttle body inlets come stock on the mr2. ats just makes the same thing, but slightly bigger, so the oem gasket should still work with it.
