quick update,...we were gonna go pickup the car tomorrow, but because of the lack of imformation the US customs agency gives, we have to pick it up on saturday. So my weekend is gonna consist of driving about 5 hours, taking off a front bumper, deck lid, tail lights, spoiler, doing some quick body work, wiring, welding and painting. The front bumper on the car has some paint missing, aswell as on the rear its got a section that was hit at a slow speed that is dented in, so im gonna b fixing the work thats already been done on it *pulled out, but not finished over* by puttin some bondo down, sanding it out, smoothing it out and then painting it. Then im also gonna b taking off the spoiler the guy put on him self, patching up one of the holes that im not gonna b needing any more, and just puttin some small rubber patches over the other ones untill our TRD wing makes its way here from Jersey. Also, i might be puttin the side skirts on if i got the time and enough paint. Oh, and cant forget, i gotta wire up some daytime running lights too...yay..

Bryan again, so good news, Sarah is now a full fledge 6gc owner. We went down to pick it up yesterday, had a great drive down and back, cleared the boarder in like 15 min. So every thing is going great. But since we saw the car in the dark last time, i didnt get a full good view of it, so there was some downsides to it, a few rust spots, a bit of paint cancer, and some good stone chips. So we spent about 5 hours today working on it together, we smoked the turns and side markers, re-finished the roof and front bumper, cleaned the interior, and fixed one of the seat belts. So i spent about 2 hours wet-sanding the roof, but unfortunatly, i couldnt save it, so i had to do a quick rattel can spray job on it. For a rattel can spray job + clean coat, it turned out good, same with the front bumper. Also changed all the headlight bulbs, also i put my old "celica" badge on the back of the car. So ill let the pictures do the talking.
When we got it.. Working after wet-sand after smoking and clear coat This post has been edited by Keroppi: Jul 21, 2007 - 4:34 PM |

Nice job on rims. I was digging those rims when I saw them on Tirerack, and the fact that they are German made was even better. They look like they are only 15' rims, but you are making them bling once again!
Your passion for the Celi and fixing it is up is admirable, and to have such a supportive woman by your side that wants to own one too is even sweeter! Don't lose her! |

todays update. I managed to finish two of the wheels, the other too are pretty curb rashed, so im taking some extra time to re-finish them. But sarah really wanted them on her car, so i decided to get only the front two put on. They look really good, but makes me remember why i needed to lower my car.
Pics hehehe..i decided to spray her hub caps bronze too so they wouldnt stand out so much and why i need to lower it... i could have easily fit another 2 fingers above my hand too. Also i decided to install my old bass tube in her car. It sounds decent, and it was just laying around in my garage so why not. Installing *sry the pic is so dark* and the only wiring you see through the entire install ill get a better pic of the full tube when i take her other rims out of the trunk in a few hours. next work to be done is re-painting/re-finishing her hood, installing back wheels, full brake job, new shocks and maybe some s-techs, and installin her TRD spoiler that should b arriving sometime within the next week. so quick update...sarah's birthday is coming up at the end of the month, so as an early b-day present to her, i bought her a set of s-techs. So we spent a week up at my cottages and came home and her car was nice and low. Changed the look of the car sooo much. It rides alot nicer now too cuz we had all 4 corners shocks blown.
you can see the difference that the S-techs make too... BEFORE: AFTER: |

My freaking messy shop..i just had every thing every where cuz i had so much on the go.. Any ways, todays updates are: Painted small sections of the car to cover up dents and scratches...i did a light sand with some 800 gritt then just masked and sprayed..im gonna wet sand tomorrow to blend the colours a bit better. Then i also tryed to work on the hood..when we got it, it was a little fadded, but nothing too bad...but after i tryed to use some of that nufinish crap on it..it made it sooooo much worse...so i decided to wet sand it to bring some of the luster back in...didnt work..just like the roof...so i painted it too..but i dont have any pic of the finished product yet...so heres a teaser.. also i did some engine bay dressing up...aswell as a well needed oil change i got bored too and decided to make some of the inteiror look a bit better too...sarah wants to keep a full black interior, so she wants to do a black headliner sometime..but untill then, shes just gonna have to deal with the gray one and the map light and mirror painted black... ill take some more pics tomorrow after i do some more work....what im gonna be doing...i dont really know..probably brake job and re-finishing her other 2 rims. |
