I'm just about done with my swap and all the wiring is good to go, except for this one little blue plug I have left over.

For some reason, I'm thinking that it plugged into a third plug on the ST205 transmission, but I can't remember since I sold the transmission about 4-5 months ago. Hopefully a GT-Four owner or a 3rd gen swapper on here can set me straight.

Located here in the engine bay:

Clip looks like this:

Wire colors are BLACK/YELLOW and PINK/BLACK:

Thanks guys, I'm hoping to fire this baby up either today or tommorrow. smile.gif

that goes to the tranny, I think it's related to the cluch start switch. You would need them together to start the car.

Word, I suspected thats where that bugger was from. Thanks a ton, Dustin.

I think somebody else in a very old 3rd gen swap post had mentioned the clutch start switch needing rewiring, I will bet money that this is what he was referring to?

there is no doubt in my mind. those are the 2 wires that need to be rewired to the clutch pedal assembly when I've done both of the A2M swap's wiring.

The clutch start switch shouldn't be on the trans in a 205, it's a manual.
Clutch start switches go under the clutch pedal.
Neutral start switches go on the trans with an auto.

The ONLY wiring for that trans is the reverse light switch.
That could be it, it looks similar to the 1st and 2nd gen, and the third gen most likely uses the same switch.

The only blue plug I remember is for the Turbo Pressure VSV (boost control solenoid). Check on the back/bottom of the intake manifold and see if it is plugged in already. The car should start without it plugged in, but you will get a check engine light.

I'm not 100% sure on this though as the wire colors don't match completely to the EWD I have on this computer.

Wrong place, unless the harness is all discombobulated.
It should be by the intake manifold.

Now that I think about it, that is most likely the charcoal canister VSV plug.

yeah, on a manual, you dont have any clutch start switches on the trans. just speedo and reverse sensors. leave it disconnected and see what happens when you try to start the car.

normally, those types of plugs go to some type of temp sensor or vsv. it could be for the AC idle up system, or something unimportant.

Ah! Yes! That's what it is. It doesn't show up on the diagrams I have since they are Euro and that harness is probably JDM. I haven't seen it on my harness since I made it and that plug is bypassed. Just put a big resistor (1watt 1kohm or something) in place of the VSV.

Ah, I see. Yeah I eliminated all the lines and what-not for the charcoal canister as well as the canister itself.

I'll leave it unplugged for now and see if theres any issues on startup, and if there is then I'll hook up a resistor so the ECU is happy with everything.

Everything is done on the car, finally. I'm starting it up today, hope for the best. wink.gif
