I need help in installing my new Pioneer deck. I went and bought a harness today and it didn't fit? The guy that was from Best Buy looked up what I needed and took me to it. I remember doing this to my 94 and my 95 celica gts' but aren't they all the same? I haven't done this for 4 years now but if i recall right, I had to buy a harness to fit the new deck right? Of all the harnesses I bought, none went into my deck nor did the harness color match my stock one? The new harness has solid colors while my 1999 celica gt had some silver dots on the solid colored harnesses. When I bought the Pioneer deck, it came with it's own harness. I'm so confused. If someone could help me, that would be great! Thanks ya'll

Okay so I'm reading from here: http://www.6gc.net/howto/install_head_unit

Ill see if I can fix something wink.gif

wrong, the harness you buy fits your stock wiring... possibly someone sliced the original harness off and spliced the new harness in, if so then you will end up splicing also... take pics of your harness and hit me up on aim, ill help you out

Thanks but I don't have AIM. Crap! I'll just snap a few quick pictures to show. It's just weird because I've worked on my 94 and 95 a few years back. Haven't touched this stuff since. BRB in about 5-10 minutes!!

i need the pictures of the inside harness (inside the car)

IPB Image
that one doesnt work i havnt seen it on a celica unless you have an amp...
you can almost wire it right now

IPB Image
these two are the ones getting wired...
blue on the aftmkt (with tip) one is remote for amp
red goes to red
yellow goes to yellow
black goes to black
white/white black, green/green black, gray/gray white these are speaker wires

atleast thats what i see...and what it should be... im not exactly sure about the blue/blue white, though, it looks like its for amps, the purple is speakers also, but i dont see other purple wire...

i don't think you have the right harness. the celi has 2 plugs that go into the stock radio. not one. once you have the right harness it's really easy. just match the colors and crimp them together using some sort of connector.
gl on the install. decks are actually quite easy to install in our cars.

That is a wrong harness.
You will need this
IPB Image
Plug them to the stock plugs behind the console.
And connect the wires to your deck harness, this one
IPB Image
All the colors should match.
I have an extra brand new harness like the one in the first pic.
If you want it, let me know. $7 shipped.
