hi i am new to this site and i dont have a celica yet i am working on getting one and i was wondering if anyone has tried to convert the headlights or taillights to that of the supra and if they did how hard its was. i was looking at the front end and if it were to be done i figured that the hood bumper and fenders would all have to get re-shaped. any input would be appreciated

you can do a clip replace... unless you have lots of time and money to actually do the work correctly... if you do clip conversion you are playing with the body, meaning it wont have the same quality and it might not last as long... theres a few people that have done conversions of clips using curren...

search for oreo for the best supra tail light conversion. the only way to do the supra tails.
then check soundslutdotcom he did porsche headlights with s2000 tail lights. playr did a supra headlight conversion (complete disaster IMO) which he has decided to fix and do a full curren front end conversion which is quite the improvement. it's a work in progress edit: pics added This post has been edited by goferris: Nov 4, 2007 - 2:49 AM -------------------- |

the supra headlights that was the best waste of time ever.
the supra headlight conversion was never finished, part of the reason why it didn't look so good. put they just don't belong on a celica proportionally they are just too large |

playr, you agree atleast... and understand you messed up... i dont think they are too big, the conversion doesnt fit the style of our body, the curves and all... the 4 seperate lights gives it a little wave and looks niiiice, hows the curren conversion

QUOTE(kerosene @ Nov 4, 2007 - 5:16 PM) i dont think they are too big, the conversion doesnt fit the style of our body, the curves and all I have to agree with playr - the reason they don't work on the Celica is that the proportions are wrong. The Mark IV Supra and the 6th Gen. Celica are so similar in shape - curves and all. But the Supra bonnet is much longer and a little wider which is why the Supra lights work on the Supra but not on the Celica. -------------------- Davey

I'm currently considering the 'supra tail lights' from
http://www.quadconversions.com/toyota_Celi...rear_lights.htm Although the basic item doesn't appeal that much to me, I considered what a bit of bodyfiller could do. The photos aren't my car, the first is from the quadconversions gallery and the rest are photoshops. Original: How I would probably have it: Just for fun: I think they end up looking more like skyline lights than supra's, but i still like them. Anyone have opinions / suggestions? |
