does it matter what year the front wheel drive gt transmission is as long as its a 6th gen transmission for a 3sgte

you want a 94 or newer (s54) tranny. any year will work.

just to give you an idea of why Manny said you don't want to buy one from the dealer... list price on the GT S54 transmission is $2,374.83 and Conicelli price is $1,804.87.

with that in mind you can get one is good shape with low miles from a junkyard for anywhere between $200-500 depending on where you go.

Yes... but it'll require a significant amount of "extra" stuff before it'll work. Axles, shift linkages, clutch, mounts, etc.
