took a turn going a little fast combined with wet roads and wet leaves, and bam front right tier slammed into the curb. Rim is done, wheel bearing is done.. not sure if the axle is bent i'm praying its not. It had to get towed so i won't know until tomorrow.. It was only a block from my house, so i tied to drive it home.. and when i tried to all i heard was a clicking sound than a loud pop and saw grease from the wheel bearing go all over.. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong and how much $$$ it might be? I'm really bumed right now but going away on wensday so i wouldn't really be able to drive my car anyway..

when i hit a curb my control arm was bent and that was bouncing from curb to curb... bearing is most likely shot... but you can replace it yourself theres a how... good luck

1500$ in damages. front axle is cracked, strut assembly, wheel bearing, rim and tire.. sucks, a lot.
not sure if were going to report it to the insurance or not, i'm only 18 and we dont' want my rates to sky rocket. but the police report says it was the road condition not my driving. This post has been edited by cnelson: Dec 17, 2007 - 1:15 PM -------------------- "Drive Well...

road condition still count as a driver's fault to the insurance company's eyes. a good experienced driver would have been more carefull, that's why not everyone who turned at the same corner loss control, so if you report this to the insurance company they'll make sure they get paid for that too.

well it might be more cost efficient to report it, raise my insurance pay my 250$ deducible than pay 1500$ out of pocket. Its my first ever issue, so it might be worth just reporting it and deal with it.

thanks for all the support guys. if the car was at all drivible i might be able to have someone else do the work, or help me out. but it'd cost me to get it towed anywhere, and since the mechanical is a client of my dads i'm sure he'll cut us as much slack as possible. he said he order a front end from another celica and should have it pretty quick. I talked to wheelsnext about my rim insurance and they will cover it, but it porbably will be a few weeks by the time i ship it back and get a new one from them, so even tho it might be fixed soon i'll have to find a wheel to throw on so i can drive. But all in all i learned my lesson and it can always be worse. hopefuly this summer i'll still be able to do some of the things i wanted to, to the celica.
