I've noticed for a while that my car vibrates alot, at first I thought maybe all cars do this, but they dont. All I have on is header, muffler,CIA, the steering wheel vibrates alot especialy while in neutral. Anyone know why this is? And at idle you hear this hissing noise, its the intake but why does it hiss so loud? thanks for any help

What does your car idle at? The hissing is probably a vacuum leak. The vibration could be caused by a shot motor mount. Do the inspections.

Idles at around 1000rpm, where are the vacuum hoses? Is it possible to see the bad motor mount by popping the hood, or do I need to get under?

You can go under the car and inspect the rear motor mount and front mount. Its right on the cross member. 1000rpm is high. We should be idleing around 750. You def. have a vac leak. Vac hoses are normally found on your intake manifold. Just sprak soapy water or brake cleaner while the car is idleing. If you hear the car get louder than thats where your leak is.

WHat should I be looking for, unplugged hoses? |

You should look for cacks in the hoses. If you are idling at 1000 then it must be a small leak,if something was to be unplugged then your rpm's would go above 3000
If you have an aftermarket intake then the hiss comes from that.Actualy if your hoses have never been changed, this is a good time to change them all. They are all hard and brittle after 10+ years. |

As already mentioned, it can be:
1: small vaccum leak (easy fix) 2: bad mount (moderate fix) 3: misfire (moderate to moderately hard fix) 4: low compression (aww crap) -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
