I'm averaging 30 mpg, try to keep it below 3k RPM or at 3k on the highway
There's already a thread or six about this on here though. I predict the magic thread-closing wand of snapshot or manphibian soon -------------------- |

25-28 on average. When you "fill up" about how many gallons are you putting in it? i usually put in around 13 gallons with around 350 on the trip odometer... i cant really think of why that would matter, but then again i am very tired lol same with me 13 gallons about 350 as well |

^^^17 gallons? how'd you figure that out?
Last time I filled up I had exactly 1/4 of a tank left, looked at how many gallons I put in and did the math came up w/ about a 14 2/3 gallons total for the whole tank. -------------------- |

OMG you guys, it doesn't even matter how many gallons the tank is (it's just over 15, btw). Fill your car. Drive your car. Drive drive drive, then fill up again. Divide the # of miles driven by the # of gallons you put in at the second fill-up. That's your mileage.

Yes. The PCV valve is located on the right side of the valve cover by the 2200 emblem and the throttle bracket mount. It little hose is connected to the metal PCV valve. It is not the long hose that is by the 16valve part of the valve cover.

hmm...I find it intresting that some of you guys are getting 30-35mpg. I myself am getting about 22 city and I recently took a long drive all highway and got 28. Here is some info on what the EPA rating is...
Powertrain Options and Availability Two dual-overhead-cam 4-cylinder engines powered Celicas in this generation: 1.8-liter for the ST, and 2.2-liter for the GT. The GT's engine rose from 130 to 135 horsepower for 1997. Either might have a 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic. Engines Size liters / cu. in Horse- power Torque Transmission: EPA city/hgwy Consumer Guide Observed dohc I4 1.8 / 208 105-110 115-117 5-speed manual: 29/34 4-speed automatic: 27/34 5-speed manual: -- 4-speed automatic: -- dohc I4 2.2 / 132 130-135 145 5-speed manual: 22/29 4-speed automatic: 22/29 5-speed manual: 25.7 4-speed automatic: 17.6 I took this from: http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com...ta-celica-6.htm So, this is what ima go by and according to this I am right where I should be... -------------------- |

Usually I get about 29-30 mpg with a lot of highway driving...
Last tank of gas I got about 23-24 mpg, b/c of: new 17's installed, four wheels + tires inside the car, and A/C blasting most of the time. There are a number of things listed in the other posts that you can do to improve gas mileage. Good luck! |

I broke 400 miles on one tank once. but that was straight interstate w/ cruise on. I brake 400 on a tank regularly, combined highway/crappy congested commute/street. No CC on (too much stop and go). I put gas in earlier this week w/430 miles on the odometer. -------------------- |

EPA milage are suppose to be off by about 7MPG on either end. This is to account for everything else in life such as type of gas used (certain mixture for different parts of the country), terrain (flat vs hilly), atmospheric pressure (more or less oxygen), etc. If you ever look at a posting for a new car EPA figures...it will give you a range in smaller print then the big numbers placed onthe window sticker. The big numbers like 22/34 is the avearge. So in reality, you might be getting 20/40. Everybody is from different places...and everybody's car is different maintience level. Just keep your car tuned and perfected and you will have close to the EPA results. Hope that helps clear up a few things.
