5'11" here. I've found that heavier people have a harder time fitting in our cars than tall people. For some reason they sit much higher in the seats. I think my coupe has a lot more headroom in the rear seat than a hatchback. I have been in a hatchback, but my head is no where near touching the ceiling in my back seat.

Actually, I think they might have changed head clerance in later models.... Okay, I test drove this 99 Celica GT and being only 5'10" my head toached the celiling... however TDing a 95 St, I had plenty of head room.. about 3-4"

I'm willing to bet they did! I'm the one that started this thread and as I said in my initial post, I'm 5'7" and I BARELY fit in my 99GT - which has a moonroof, if that matters? I was shocked when I saw the height of people who said they fit fine. |

BTW both of these models had moonroofs... being a poor college student I am still debating on how much I am willing to spend vs performance... I may just cave and buy a paseo. I have also been thinking about buying a junked and rebuilding it...

So just wondering what the crowd looks like over 11 years later, I'm 5'5" and I feel as though this car was designed for people of my size. Any taller or wider and would feel squeezed. -------------------- Brand new 6gc owner! (sort of 2011)

I'm 5'10", so headroom wise I was fine. My problem was shoulder room, as I'm 54" around the shoulders. There are very few cars where my shoulder isn't buried into the door panel. Maybe that's why I like the McLaren F1 so much.

It's weird going through all those old profiles... so many nice cars, lots crashed or sold. very sad.
Anywho, 5'6", fit in fine |
