Hello fellow Celica fans
I've just acquired a nice metallic blue 1994 GT which needs a bit of cosmetic tlc to bring her back to full glory. What sold me was the fact it was a Jap import with the GT-4 engine (minus the turbo) which sounds glorious at 5500 rpm Anyway do any of you have any performance figures for this particular model? I've heard 178bhp 0-60 in 7.9secs to 183bhp 0-60 in 7 haven't had the chance to check these things physically but would be interesting to know. Anyway look forward to spending many hours trawling this forum getting my car up to a nice standard, so hi |

3S-GE engine is about 177 BHP on our petrol, and yeah, 0-60 in 7.9
Not too much more to be got from it really, de-cat, stainless exhaust and induction kit with cold air feed frees up a bit more.. I'm getting mine dyno'd next week so we'll see what you can get out of it. and welcome aboard mate. -------------------- |

Do you plan to keep the gt-4 naturally aspirated, or are you going to put the turbo back on? -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! We kinda have the GT-4 engine without the turbo, but you can't just bolt one on -------------------- |

pictures!!!!yea u have wat we call a 3sge engine,do u have all wheel drive?? think its just front wheel, cant believe how smooth the engine is compared to an FTO (which was the other option) but pulls better and not as tappety QUOTE 3S-GE engine is about 177 BHP on our petrol, and yeah, 0-60 in 7.9 Not too much more to be got from it really, de-cat, stainless exhaust and induction kit with cold air feed frees up a bit more.. I really like the original exhaust note actually think i'll only change it if it starts blowing. Its fast enough for now anyway, love the way it takes off at 5000 rpm, well sweet Oh and pics will follow don't worry, want to get the bodywork tidied up a bit first though. Its 100% standard at the mo anyway and its metallic blue. has boot spoiler+5 spokes that are super frosty, in fact they have discovered the frosties secret formula |

My Bad.
... a Jap import with the GT-4 engine (minus the turbo) ... I guess that's why i was asking. I though the GT-4 Club had another member And Yessir, Kids and a wife will hold ya down a little, but ya still gotta get out there on that car and do some stuff (Believe me, We're sailing on the same ship here buddy) *meaning i have a miss&kid too. EDIT: i have no idea about that knob though; i'm stranded in automatic This post has been edited by D-Man: Jul 2, 2008 - 4:27 PM -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! Anyone know how to stop the gearknob spinning round, it doesn,t seem to screw on it should just screw on. the inner threading may have been stripped though so you just might need to buy a new knob or shifter but most likely just the knob. welcome to the site edit: spelling This post has been edited by goferris: Jul 3, 2008 - 12:20 AM -------------------- |

Hey mate, Re: the shifter, I had the same thing with mine so I unscrewed it off and just folded up a piece of paper into a little thick square and jammed it down the bottom then screwed the knob back on tight, did the job perfect.
