Will the 3rd gen short block mate up to my second gen head? My mr2 is knocking and I need to rebuild the bottom end but may be interested in your block.

yes it will but there are a lot of differences


The water pump Is definately different but I think it will swap over call me and I can let you know what I went through when I had to buy some parts from toyota

The plastics on the end won't Bolt on either.

interested, got pics? what year is the block and what year is the head?

how different is the 2nd gen head compared to the 4th? (other than the cams? I know nothing about the fourth gen)

the block is from a 95 jdm MR2.
And the head is from a 01 jdm caldina

The head has the same intake and exhaust manifold bolt pattern as a 3rd gen 3sgte
It would be a good project head for a race motor using an aftermarket coil on plug ignition system

Ill gave some pics tomorrow. They will be in the link in my signature
