So i was bored and i started thinking... I have a self-built SRI intake right now. It sucks in hot air and i kind of want it to suck in more cold... why not make a pipe that brings cold air from my front bumper to my sri. It would be a very ez mod and wouldnt cost much. Any thoughts/ ideas?

Anyway, isn't there already a scoop that scoops air from the left front to the stock intake box?

I saw in someones photos they had the best idea so far which was to wall off a section of the engine bay where the air filter resides, for this to work the battery will need to be relocated to the boot, that front left corner is sectioned off, all items around that area moved elsewhere

Yeah the K&N kit comes with a pipe that fixes to the undertray to scoop up cold air.

Works nicely.

Please don't - been done - much too ricey for our cars.

This has been done before many times. My last car had a chromed aluminum tube like you would use for an intake from the foglight to the hole where the stock pipe goes through [enlarged with the almighty dremil] and then it had a SRI in the shape of an S from the TB to the other pipe. Probably works better than a long snaky CAI [which looses velocity with all those bends that are necessary].
BTW - No need to move the battery if you wall off that one side of the bay just wall it off with the filter - you need not worry about the battery's temps effecting the intake air.
This is all pretty much a moot point as it won't do much, if anything, better than an SRI - Same as CAI. The biggest gain is just getting rid of the stock resonators and tiny piping, square paper filter box etc.

Manphibian - I was gonna post that - that's the nicest setup I've seen so far.

How about leaving your bottom stock box on, block off the hole, make a pipe and make sure your intake sits on top of the box and put dry ice in there?? thumbsup.gif ...haha...hear of people doing something similar like this before..never really seen it though...

PLease check out http://www.speedbyspectre.com for the intake modulator. You pick out the pieces and create your own intake. If anyone wants more information, PM me as i have a close relation with the company.

Would be good to make some sort of fast swap setup for this for 1/4 mile drags.

I'm not naming names here but a SWAPPED Houston member from way back tried that and it makes absolutely NO DIFFERENCE and looks like some Honda sh*t. He did get caught in one of our monsoon like sudden rains but nothing happened cause he had the intelligence to shut the car off and pull over immediately.
Don't bother.
