Hi all -

Just picked up a '97 ST Limited Edition and had a couple of questions.

I need to replace the headlights. I saw the write-up on how to remove the front bumper which I definitely will use. It didn't say anything about disconnecting the battery or watching out for the airbag sensors. Is that a concern when removing the bumper or are they located somewhere else?

Also, my seat belt chime doesn't sound or light up on the dash. If you disconnect the plug under the seat, the light on the dash comes on. I just have no warning chime or light when you start the car. I know its not a big thing, but I am just curious as to why it wouldn't be working. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Bumper: Unless u crush the airbag sensor removing the bumper u should be ok. the crash bar is between the bumper and the sensor.. (IIRC) its hard to do is what im saying.

Seat belt: fuse?

edit: i removed the bumper on a 97 LE st, and changed the high beam. its easy if u follow the writeup

^agreed on the bumper/airbag sensor thing. You'd kinda have to work at messing with the sensors in the process of removing the bumper. Granted, bumper removal is a colossal PITA, but the likelihood that you'll do anything to the sensors is very slim.

However in the interest of your safety and keeping lawsuits away from the site and the above members:
Please disconnect the negative cable from the battery and wait at least 10mins before attempting to remove the front bumper of your vehicle or performing any type of maintenace on your vehicle. Thank you. wink.gif

^^ This has been a 6gc.net Public Service Announcement laugh.gif

Also, with your chime, does it work when you open the door with the keys in the ignition? (not running) because (IIRC) it's all the same "speaker" (toner) so if the fuse is good, there may be a very slight chance something has happened to the toner.

Also, the write-up on removing the nose was perfect. Got it off and the new lights in and back together in no time.

Looks nice! How much did you pay for that, and how many miles?

Mine was $7k, with 67k miles. Sadly, something happened to the rims I guess since I'm sitting on 14 inch hubcaps, I never knew they came stock with rims...
