 Stereo Removal, Help!! |

O.K.... I my celica says that if I remove the stock stereo it will never work again. So my question is... Does anyone know how to remove it without this happening? I would like to sell it for some cash back. To use on other upgrades.

wrong forum.
but anyway if you unplug it or remove the battery for too long, the stereo will lock up. you need to ask the dealer for the instructions and code on how to unlock it or they will do it themselves. do you have the same stereo as me (click here)? if so i can give you the unlock instructions. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

really? that's the first. i thought i was the only one that had this exact headunit.
but first, what's the model number of the headunit? it's a 5-digit number found on the front. mine had it beside the Toyota logo. actually, i sold my stock stereo. now i have a double din panasonic av150. it's soo old it doesn't even play cds, only cassette tapes lol  but i can watch tv via antenna]so i don't need yours thanks. i'm thinking of switching to this one. i want to keep a 'stock look' to keep thieves away.. and because i really hate attaching/detaching faceplates everytime i get in/out of the car... O.K. Mine is a little different. So I'll tell you what... Give me the code and I will try it. If it don't work when I plug it back up I will hit it with a hammer! I prob wouldn't get but about $5 anyway. Destroying it would give me $10 worth of enjoyment!
