I need you to check your production label in the door jamb and tell me what your paint code is. Look on the label for "C/TR" or "Color/Trim" and the first three characters after that will be the paint code. I show that it is 183, but I'm running into a problem with some other Toyota cars that share that same color... and I have a mistake somewhere. Thanks!

the paint code 183 is used on several diffrent toyota/lexus cars, under a couple diffrent names.
here is a copy/paste from the sherwin-automotive paint site, (its what we use at work) with a listing of the cars that use it and the diffrent names it goes by.
however, there are 2 diffrent alternates for the color, but its still the same color basicly, just a slight variation.

USAGE
MFG Exterior Code Accent Code Color Name Model Year
Lexus 183 Blue Slate Met 1994-1997
Lexus 183 Dk Bluish Gray Met 1995
Lexus 183 183 Blue Slate Met 1997
Toyota 183 Med Gray Met 1991-1993
Toyota 183 Med Gray Met 1991-1994
Toyota 183 Blue Slate Met 1996-1997
Toyota Trk 183 Med Gray Met 1991-1995
used on : lexus GS300, celica, corolla, cressida, and landcruiser.

hope that helps.

Thanks presure2, that was helpful and it matches with the information that I worked up on my own. I was afraid that the older Toyota Gray and the newer Lexus Blue Slate were two different colors because photos of the cars look slightly different, but apparently I had it right in the first place. smile.gif Thank you for the reference to the Sherman Williams site, also... that will be helpful in the future.

You must tell me where you're getting your work done! I need help...

And is that house, crap, I can't remember where, like somewhere in North Portland? That house looks totally familiar - is it a ridiculously HUGE inside weird party house with a small dance floor in the finished basement? I knew a bunch of MHCC guys who shared that house a few years ago...
