hey guys im new here i was just wondering if i would be able to swap my 99 celica gt engine with a 3sgte engine? but the bad thing is i have an automatic..
 but if theres still any way to do it? also does anyone know if it will pass smog check in california??

Yes it can be done..The 3sgte has been swapped in all yrs and into gt's and st's I don't think the auto will take to it very well..but there are treads on auto to manual swaps...I no that it will fail smog test esp in cali i dont no how easy it is to pay someone of in cali either...Its a big investment and a lot of work there is a lot to be learned from stickies and previous swaps I would take some time and read...but I no passing inspection is real tough here in jersey cali has got to be much worse.

I used a Powertrain Control Solutions trans controller to control the transmission. There are no non-electronic transmissions suitable to handle the torque generated by this engine. (they won't last longer than 4 weeks worth of driving). On your compliance plate in your engine bay, what is the code of your transmission? A###E or A###L ? |
