Hi again
now a Pic of my clock, this is the best shot but the Blue is deeper than in the Photo. Blue is more like the reflected Blue the the Blue on the numbers. -------------------- WWSideWinder - 1996 - 3S-FE - Auckland New Zealand

I read somewhere that using a purple gel will give you a white clock... I must have used the wrong shade or purple or something! Lol. I got my light gel for $1 so I can't complain for the nice aqua blue I got. It's a step in the right direction. But has anybody achieved a white clock (actually white, not just kinda blue) with the gels? Or would I need to replace the whole clock? Because my step-momma just bought an '09 Camry with the white gauges and clock, and that's exactly what I want in my car. So I guess I'm desperate enough to buy a new clock if I have to, but I like those $1 light gels if anyone can give me the right color combination.
EDIT: Forgot to say the first time that I don't really think it's possible to do this, turn a green clock to white, since white is all colors and those gels filter colors out and remove them. But hey, if I can get close, I'll be happy This post has been edited by richee3: Dec 1, 2008 - 11:58 PM -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. I have used blue foil projector for front plastic. For a display alphanumeric i sticked on oracal foil. I made different combinations of colors. |

I took a pink cup, cut it up, used two pieces, and it made my clock white. Which it was green. Now to other projects, lol.

^ That actually kind of makes sense, since green and red are opposites on the color wheel, if you had just the right pink it could feasibly cancel out most of the green.

So could a red color gel cancel the green too? I read somewhere that purple does the trick, but that just turned it a nice teal blue that everyone else has. I haven't picked up the other colors yet. I got that single purple gel for $1 rather than $6 for ever color. I'm cheap, I know -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. The cup that I cut up, I think it's pink, but I could be color blind, lol. And as you can see, I put one piece on another so it made it darker. And then a picture of what my clock looks like. And maybe that is blue, but I think it looks more white.

That looks pretty white to me! I'm going to go to the dollar store and buy some plastic cups now Nice job!
EDIT: I just went to town and bought a red light gel to replace the purple one I had in there. Worked beautifully! I now have a nice white clock with a blood red background. For only $1 and about ten minutes of work. Well worth it.
