okay so im sitting at home today and a cop comes knocking on my door and tells me that my celica had been struck and i needed to come with him. So i walk down the street with him to see a guy with his campers jack that was hanging underneath his camper stuck in my wheelwell. Turns out he took a turn wrong and got his jack stuck in my wheelwell and drug my car a few good feet! So after finally getting his jack out of my fender i realized my tire is rubbing against the wheelwell in the back. So basically my car is ****ed. If the axel and what not is screwed then i know my insurance company will classify it as totaled.
god i have seriously the worst luck.

My car was once hit when parked, it SUCKED and I know how you feel.

I dont think the damage is super bad however from how it looks. I think the wheel might be rubbing against the wheelwell because the shield things are bolted to the fender, and the fender seems like it was pulled forward quite a bit. I really don't think they will total your car unless the insurance company deems that the cost of a fender is greater than the payout to you for your entire vehicle.

Fortunately its a clearcut case, no argument as to who's wrong.

Hope all goes well for you, sorry to see this.

yeah it sucks so bad!

well I thought that it was just the mud guard might be out of place but when I turned my wheel so he could get his jack out it made some weird like wookie-ish noise? hah I really dont know how to describe it.

Yeah, mine got hit by a jeep liberty though, and the lady took out pretty much the exact spot you got hit, along with my front bumper on that side. I was pretty pissed, and i was worried the same as you as to whether they would total it or not, but seeing as its just the fender for you, i think it should be ok, but insurance companies have minds of their own anyway.

I really don't think the axle could have gone screwy cause of that, you probably just heard the tire rubbing up against all those shields and they probably bent and "popped" and all kinds of crazy things.

Unbolt and remove the fender and the arch liner then take it for a short test drive. You might be lucky - it could be just those two that are damaged. Certainly looks like it from the pics.

You guys need to stop being all QQ about this. The car does NOT look totaled and you might make out like a bandit, new suspension, tires, rims, paint job , etc.

Someone hit my 97...I got a body kit and a new paint job. Someone keyed my 92 and I got $1,600 ( which I spent on a computer, rofl )

You'll get your car back and in better shape ( and a better COLOR!)

i'm going to go ahead and assume it's not totaled but if insurance rules that it is, it's in your favor. New fender, lower front control arm and maybe a new strut and the rest of your money can go to upgrades or personal gifts to yourself. good luck regardless.

Why does your insurance company even have anything to do with it? Shouldn't this be entirely on the insurance of the driver who hit you?

I think it is very fixable, my car has been through worse, though I still need to have it professionally repaired *previous owner who had it totaled didn't do a good job*. Sorry to hear about that.

well the guy who hit my celica's insurance person came and took a look at the damage. i noticed that the bumper is around an inch off and so is the hood. hah well the towing company is coming to pick up the car and assess the damage. i should know everything by tomorrow or saturday and know if his insurance company will file it as salvage or not so i will update this as i find more and more info out!!

I think that is only fender/plastic wheel well damage and some of the place you screw in your bumper. It was pulled forward so your wheel rubs againts it.. There's not way your suspension is damage if nothing actually pulled on it. You're probably looking at 700-1200$ of repair here (by a pro shop of course..).

But sometimes things looks worst than they are. good luck!
