It's true, many people have (try to) answered to this question, but many response contain only part of the answer. People answers half the question with some " I think so..." "try this... "Not sure".... "maybee"
I have many post on this forum about really important question who need good response. It's easy to said "Try the search button", but if the information is not completly there on one, easy understandable treads of the forum.... A good answer is like the top topic of the forum, with an all you need in one subject. So, be carefull with your answer; a good forum is make with good question AND good answer. And people are not stupid; in 2003, a "Search button" is in a common use of internet, not a goodies... my 2 cents |

Well the reason i asked this question, is no one actually gave a detailed list of parts. Unless there are other parts that i didn't list that you guys know about, please tell me. But i am doing my own research. Also I probably won't start until middle of next year.

here ya go
http://mdweiss.ods.org/7afte.htm that should help, but the best thing you can do is read. go to howstuffworks.com and read their article on turbo chargers. buy the book Maximum Boost and read the whole thing. after all the research, you will be able to answer almost all turbo related questions except for the ones that require first hand experience. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

I was looking at the link posted earlier with the parts list and its kinda funny looking at how Ebay is listed as a place to buy for almost everything. Its kinda hard to remember what shoping for random stuff was like before that.

apparently in 2003 you still don't know how to use the search function. it took me 2 minutes to find a thread that lists practically everything you need for a 7afte project: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=2378&hl= nice try though |

"try doing a search. this same question has been asked countless times. "
you never said "Resolve". Only ask. So, you think about a good answer, but your not sure, at this point is equal to asked: "Where the bathroom?", and reply with "My girlfriend have asked for it. Search in the house!". This a futile and useless information. But ,the link you put in your answer THIS a good answer! You know why? Because you done the search in first to be sure. You RESOLVE it. This is the line between putting a comment just for posting VS a good informational and usefull answer. I close the subject, because this thread is about boosting a ST celica with a turbo. If others comments is about everithing else or are useless and without link with the principal subject, then go in the general discussion. That's it. And thanx to others guy who help. The link and price are interesting! |

I wasn't insulting you. I was merely responding to Pandeo's comment that I "need to be careful with [my] answer". I don't talk out of ass, either in real life or on this board. I knew for a fact that using the search function would answer your question, hence my reply. |

Well, then you have a LONG time to learn for YOURSELF what you need...you'll only know if you learn about turbo cars in general...because they all need the same components...just different brands and models...nobody here that made his 7A-FTE, including myself, asked for a specific list. If you ask for a list, you won't get answers. EVERYTHING there is to know about the 7A-FTE is either here on in celica.net. Good luck! -------------------- |

I'm surprised to see this type of responce from a Moderator. You could either just not answer his question and leave one of us to do the smirky remark, or answered his question and thrown in a "next time..." EDIT: ESPECIALLY TO A NEWBIE! Your going to scare people away from posting with this type of attitude. The first time everyone gets here they aren't like "Oh, I have a question, I'm going to look around!" Let them get familiar with the users here without being rude to someones first post. This post has been edited by Andason: Nov 7, 2003 - 8:40 PM -------------------- i am awesome
