Ok so there is a good deal on a 240sx near me. its a 95 240sx for 1500. its almost mint. just has a dent in the fender. Now i really wanna drift and have a RWD car. and a 240 is a small dream car for me. and on the other hand i LOVE my celica. ive put so much hard work into and made it my creation. i plan to turbo in the spring. im just stick between the 2. i just need some 2 cents from people haha.

That's a hell of a Xmas present, I wish I could have an S13 for christmas biggrin.gif

Yeah, I'd say stick with the celica until you can afford a second car for drifting, then buy a 240sx. BTW, for how much it cost to turbo one of our cars, you could probably find another good deal on a 240 again.

Around 3g. depending on what turbo you use and if u find deal on parts. to turbo our celicas, we must gather parts because there is no turbo kit for our car.

you will quickly learn that 240s are the biggest POS cars ever created.
the build quality is horrible on those cars.

Thats a bargain for a '95 240 if it still runs and its a 5spd. Usually around my area you can't find one for more than 3 K and they got blown motors.
Looks very nice with the Sylvia headlight conversion and bodykit. My buddies got one and it looks nothing like the original. Tottaly different.

Technically you can't drift a FWD car if you ask me. But you can get a FWD car sideways, easy.

However, that's not drifting, and it's still nog driving RWD. An MR2 is nice (I have an old one), Toyota quality and all, but you have to be a real pro to drift with an MR2. And if you do, it's not natural drifting, because the rear is heavy.

So if you want to drift but that car. But it could be pretty worthless for that price.
Anyway, 1500$ is not much, isn't it possible to keep it next to your Celica?
Then you would have a solid base, it won't be a bad thing if the 240 breaks down.

I wouldn't turbo your Celica if you're looking into RWD and/or drifting, you will want it even more after you turbo'd your Celica.

Keep the Celica as-is [Show car] and get the 240 and mod it for drift - only insure it as a track car.

^^

KA24DET is really popular now since the larger displacement produces higher torque and its uber cheap. Even so, you could probably find a cheap SR20DET sitting somewhere if you need more power later on (or you explode your KA24DE).

So your planning to do this "drifting" on the street?
That will either end in a bad accident or you'll quickly loose your license.

x2. A very good point I failed to mention last night Brent! That is true.

Plus you have to consider, I did tell you that there is a big chance of you wrecking it. The money into body work, plus insurance for a sporty car being young could add up. Even if you go the liability route. Now I did say before, if you can afford to have both, then sure go for it. But that was a very going point he mentioned.

LOL I seen this post and I was like "WTF?! We talked about this last night!" laugh.gif
