So i need to get my clutch replaced and this is what the shop quoted me...

Timing belt - $234
Clutch - $642
Rear main seal - $60

does that sound about right to you guys?

timing belt and clutch are good, it seems to me 60 to do the rear main, once the tranny is off is expensive, even if that is with the parts.

ya thats with the parts, he said it would make more sense for me to have it replaced now and not later when my trans is put back together...

I'm In Australia and a stock exedy clutch is $250, rear man seal is $20 from numerous places.

well they are doing all the labor on it, so it doesnt surpise me that the clutch is that price...

and i live in the states... smile.gif

just do it yourself? you could learn alot from doing it yourself, i did mines in 2 days cause i had to go get new CV boot cause they gave me some smaller ones, dont know why? but you will save alot more money. my clutch was only about $110. but without labor? thats pretty expensive i think.

I dont have the tools or the patience to have me and my car stuck at my parents house for 2 days, and the only time i have off that my car can be worked on i will be on vacation so having someone else do it just makes more sense
