Well, I have a 360 right now but am thinking about getting a PS3 instead. I like my xbox, but I have a refurbished one and it is extremely loud. I can't even bring myself to watch movies on it because the sound of the 360 being on overpowers the sound of the movie. I'm also looking into a PS3 for the blue ray player. I know I could buy a cheap player for less than a ps3 but I was looking to get rid of my xbox anyways. So i'm here just asking your opinion on the two. Just some pro's and cons of each system, mainly the ps3, since I have had my 360 for quite some time now. Hows the online, support, things like that.

Support is fine.
Online is not as good as XBox live, but it is free.... When you add up all the extra things that you need to buy to make the 360 do the same as the PS3, they cost about the same. The PS3 is MASSIVELY better in terms of quality, it looks and feels like a quality piece of hardware, and runs near silently... If you play a LOT of online games, you might miss xbox live, but PS3 wins in every other area for me. Some good exclusives out now, and Killzone 2 out in the new year looks AMAZING! I don't think you'll regret it if you get one

PS3 all day long. I can plug my Ipod into it
 plus the controlers are bluetooth, so you can use it from another room (great when listing to music) plus there are so many titles that are only avalible on the ps3. If you've got internet, then it's free to get online, no paying for subscriptions. X360 is FTL.  i tell my bro in law all the time... He's so jellous of me

My oldest son hasn't even thought of touching their 360 since they got the PS3.
x2 On it looking and feeling like a much more quality made system. For me it's the gimick Microsoft work into their system that makes me mad - you have to buy a new add-on for every stupid little thing you want it to do beyond playing games. That's just BS IMO. PS3 comes ready to go [Of course I bought the top of the line one so I may not know WTF I'm talking about ]

Other than the PS2 backwards compatability, the PS3 has the best of all worlds. Plus, if you need more, software upgrades are free in the event that you wanna play another type of format. Like for example, i need to get my butt online so i can upgrade my WMA ability; but it's all free and stuff. X2 on microsofts gimick.  Damn... Bill Gates has enough money.

i don't touch my 360 unless i'm gonna play halo or uno or something, other than that it doesn't get turned on. ps3 FTW! poor thing hardly gets turned off.

PS3 for sure. The only thing that the 360 has on PS3 is the online gaming, but I don't even care for that. Maybe it also has a better overall "gaming" base. But as an all-around kind of multimedia platform, PS3 all the way.

yea, I didnt think it would be this one sided. Online gameplay isn't a huge deal for me, i mostly just play with my friends, so if 360 is better at that, no biggie. As long as I am able to play online, it works for me.

Base your decision on what games you like to play.
If your a Gears of War fan, a ps3 wont do you any good, the same way that if you like metal gear, the 360 wont do you any good either. Both are great systems. The 360 has the almost perfect xbox live, while the ps3 has a blue ray player. Figure out whats more important to you. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

I love my ps3..I have said it b4 and ill repeat myself It think its the best $400 or w/e dollars I have spent in a long time.
I keep hearing about xbox live and I really have no idea all the details about it but to me the playstation online seems just fine but I can't compare it to an xbox since I have never used one. I <3 Blu Ray -------------------- |

I think i differ from everyone i agree with sever lol someone on the 360 side. If you like more multimedia stuff like Blu-ray then maybe PS3 is for you but if you actually play games alot and get into it especially first person shooters xbox is for you because x box live is so competitive and you can expand your gaming more. And x box live you can get alot of things like movies and videos and game demos downloaded straight to your hardrive. So you just need to figure out where you fit more.
And if you want to fix that loud sound your x box is refurbed so probably has early generation x box problems get that 20 $ intercooler from walmart that attaches to the back and ull be good to go if you keep it
