Sounds like a good idea, distinguishing, deciding on whats appropriate is more of the task. It becomes a case by case approval before it can be posted.

In my opinion this is good idea. I'm able to make performance video legal way.
a) I should take some vids during track day b) I should take some video on airfield (even one local TV station is using it for events about cars... its full legal when you have permission from airfield owner) c) I should use Autobahn in Germany (no speed limits!!!) so why do not have chance to share? and of course no one said I must make any video just because of performance topic here... so... why not. -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)

i think the rules/the forum section should be pretty strictly enforced.
i.e... you have to submit all information of the video to the mods before it can get posted. like this QUOTE Example post: Where: Abandoned Airfield in Alameda, 10miles west of Oakland When: 9:30PM on a Saturday What: Doing donuts on a rainy day Link: www.google.com Then it would automatically rule out those people who would post "0-130 IN AUTO ST 15MIN VIDEO." |

IMHO this will lead to alot of, "0-130 st" posts, or generally illegal actions, that will be locked, or just require ALOT more mod involvment.
Im all for giving it a shot and seeing how people handle it, I realy am. I just honestly believe it will be ALOT more trouble then its worth. Also if it does have a test run, there needs to be REAL rules, ie: 0-60 timed...(must show speedo whole time), 40-100 timed (must show speedo whole time), drive bys..(max speed XXmph [2x means only double digits] no US highway is 65+....) there needs to be rules, and they need to be enforced... Mod aproval of videos is a must. IMO. hope this helps in some way. -------------------- Kawi Love |

Sorry if this is a little off-topic, but since when are we not allowed to post vids? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge vid guy (in fact I need to buy a decent camera) but I've posted a few and I've seen others and it's never been a problem....

Migg, the general idea here is to stop being so anal about videos that are posted on here, and not to be MORE anal about them. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

DAN: show me a highway thats 65+ POSTED speed limit. Uh, you need to expand your universe a little bit there Here in GA we have 70mph speed limits, in Texas (and most other western states) they have 80mph posted limits on the HIGHWAY, 70mph posted limits on the other roads (meaning a two-lane regular road with no division). -Doc This post has been edited by Dr_Tweak: Jan 6, 2009 - 12:31 PM -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

2 things.
1) the "i stand correct" appology/whatever covers my less then amazing speed limit statments. 2) we all know wikipedia is the end all be all for answers....didnt some huge corperation spam it with fake info to sound better? IIRC walmart or MCD or something like that. Im not sayin in this instance wiki is wrong, i just really dont turn to it for answers. edit: if u wanna correct me about the wiki info spam, i bet u could wiki the answer too...
