So, I'm finally starting to spend some money on my car and first up is springs & shocks. Need some opinions from you wise ones out there. Do you have a preference between Tein S-techs vs SpringTech?? What's your experience??

Thanks all!
Amy

Tein S-Techs aren't noticably the lowest drop, but are decent and will allow bigger rims to fit.

^ Tein's just have a slight drop with better handling.

greetings from another "mature" 6gc owner.

last spring i put Tein S-tech springs and KYB GR2 struts, i also went with a 17" replacement wheel and 215/40 tyres. what a difference it made. although the ride is a little stiffer and the car a little lower, i feel better contact with the road. i feel more confident in turns. your profile says you were looking for a "fun" car, something you drive for sheer pleasure. these are not powerful vehicles but they sure are fun to throw around a windy road. making these changes to your suspension will definitely increase your driving pleasure, regardless of which setup you choose.

PS we should start a 40+ club in the 6gc. laugh.gif

Yeah! Who says kids get to have all the fun!
I just ordered new wheels for car, new shocks(KYB GR2), still deciding which springs(I'll prolly go with Tein), and need to decide which tires. I got 17's and plan on 225/45 for tires. I'm a chick, I need a little cushion for the tushie....

Now here's the thing I cannot figure out. I have 2 '98's. A Convertible, AT and Hatchback, 5 sp. Why am I getting better gas mileage with the AT Conv than I am in the 5 sp Hatch??

Thanks!!
Amy

Nice vert!!!
but i noticed it had a front hit and the bumper was changed to a 94 bumper......

As for the gas milage, maybe you drive your hatch more agressive, shift at a higher rpm, needs a tune up??? alot of things will make your mpg change drastically.

previous owner had an accident and replaced the hood, bumper and right fender with parts from another Celica..

Will get a tune up soon. Not sure when the last one was done. Boyfriend says the same thing..says I drive it too aggressively and shift at too high rpm. Guess I need to chill out on my driving a little.

Thanks!
Amy

BUMP
BUMP is a way to draw attention to something you have previously posted. rather than repost or repeat everything you posted earlier you BUMP. all you do is post a reply with the word BUMP in the body. ie. you post something for sale and no one replies after a few days, weeks. you BUMP. works really well for unanswered questions.

mileage
95celgt is wise...you just like to drive the 5H1T outta the 'hatch. me, i know! if i had a shtick i would prolly get 14MPG. ghahahahahahah!!

suspension
The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin'
That's what I said
The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand
Or so I have read

My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo
I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo

Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

I met her on Monday, 'twas my lucky bun day
You know what I mean
I love her each weekday, each velvety cheek day
You know what I mean

My love gun's loaded and she's in my sights
Big game is waiting there inside her tights, yeah

Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about mud flaps, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo
I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo

Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

bump pretty much puts the thread back on top for whatever reason, whether you are trying to sell something and no one is replying or no one is replying in your thread to your question, you bump so that it goes back on top so that everyone can see it again. People don't browse to the backs of listings usually the top ones.
