Ok, mirrors are on, emblems are on, tails are on, first coat of zaino is setting overnight. Got the cluster out to put the DCW cover on it, calling it a night.

Having some issues getting the front drivers side splitter to sit right.......that's about it. For once one of my cars isn't fighting me tooth and nail.

Waiting until it's 100%. I am expecting it to be all back together tomorrow night, but the gauge cluster is going to be lacking because I haven't ordered any lighting for behind it yet.

Well.....that sucks. I got my clear turns apart and the mold is etched into the chrome. They're shot. Ordering new ones today, hopefully they'll be in this week. I know what happened too. The car got washed with them dangling there and water got into the vent hole on the back side. Only way it could have happened.

It's going to be a few days. The car isn't going anywhere without those turn signal housings. Right now I just got done putting the door panels back on but I'll be danged if the passenger solenoid isn't wanting to work again. I think I got a dud. I can hear it try to pull but it doesn't pop the door. Looks like I'm taking that side apart again. Haven't messed with the fitment of the front splitters today, it's been raining and just horribly muggy so I haven't spent too much time in the garage.

I did get the DCW gauge cover in and that thing is effing SICK sitting in the dash. I'm thinking about trimming the outside edge in silver to match the AutoMeter gauges though, and I'm going to have to pull it apart agian when I get some good LED's to go behind it. Biggest issue I'm facing is a way to override the gauge cluster lighting to on all the time. I think I'm going to end up pulling the cluster pin out of the dimmer switch and relaying it to a switched 12v source, or I'm going to cut and tap into the wire directly at the cluster harness. Only catch to this is that I'll end up losing dimming capability.

I'm stuck on the stereo install right now due to the double antenna harness and I've only got a single on the new Kenwood DDx 812. Just havne't gone out today, so maybe I"ll pick it up tomorrow on the way home from my wife's labor/delivery class we're starting.

I haven't taken the last coat of Z2 off of the car yet. I'm going to do that later and maybe put another coat on. Zaino just does so much for dynamic paints and even in garage lighting the paint just screams at you.

Am I teasing enough yet? biggrin.gif

stop being a twat Sean!
And I told you the gauge cluster would look "effin sick"
I agree with the silver lining around the edges, but I would aim more something like what mine has because the actual silver piece there I think looks a lot better than paint would.

Dustin, yours was a trim ring around the inside edge. I can't find that I want to use there, so I was thinking of using something like a thin piece of door trim around the outer edges of each section painted silver. The silver would match the autometer gauge rings almost exactly (paint pen that I've used before). Good thing is if I do that it's removeable.

Ok, just dug through and found my old stereo install post, all I need to use is the larger of the two antenna wires. So stereo might go back in tonight. However......

The interior is absolutely disgusting. There's sanding castoff EVERYWHERE. I've wiped it down twice and have gotten nowhere it feels like.

Got more work done last night. New stereo is in and interior is back together/wiped down. Needs vacumming. Fixed the solenoid issue on the passenger door (too much line tension). The new Kenwood DDx 812 is AWESOME. I have got to get the nav unit for it.

CAN NOT for the life of me get that splitter on the front Drivers side to sit right. So........I laid enough clear silicone to fill the concave section on the inside of the splitter last night, and tonight I'll go in with double sided tape that so it sits more flush and see if that works. If it doesn't, it may be a bead of clear silicone holding it flush.

Just popped the hood last night.....OMG. I need a powerwasher. frown.gif

Can't make up my mind whether I want Polarg or the 5 Matrix LED's for the gauge cluster right now. I'm going with white, and will be slowly converting all the interior lighting over to a cool white (have a buddy that's awesome with a soldering gun). Will also be adding a strip under each door for ground lighting while the door is open (saw it on a friends corvette and makes it very easy to find something if you drop it.).

But.....for some reason my 2-way remote for the new alarm in the car quit working. It's ticking me of frankly. The non-feedback one way remote works fine, but the two-way is jacked. Dang thing is only 4 montsh old at this point.

go with the matrix LEDs, they're whiter and brighter than the polargs.
With the polargs it still shows some green through and just not bright enough.

Clifford Matrix 3.3x. It's ONLY the 2-way remote that went tango uniform. The one way non-feedback remote works like a champ. If it craps out......bad juju as the alarm controls the door solenoid relays.

Oh boy.......I feel stupid. Tape, doesn't matter if it's 3M Molding Tape or not, doesn't adhere to silicone. biggrin.gif Didn't think that one through did I??? Problem solved though, this little thing called bondo makes a great backside filler as seen below:

And a little cell phone pic teaser of the interior:

Yeah, but that's been there for a couple of years. I've actually got a bunch of parts partially wrapped for the completed look. Look at the gauge cluster....that's what the pic is of.

That splitter is flat out pissin' me off. I think I got it though now, and I think that there's something not right about that side of the car because it just seems off as I'm crawling around it, and that's the side that WASN'T in the accident.
