 Advice on Exhaust, What exhaust for GT?? |

Could anybody give me advice on an exhaust for my ST202 please, just fancying an upgrade, nothing wrong with the original and not likely to be seeing as kind Mr Toyota fit them with stainless systems.
I'm after some noise and performance and any suggestions brand and/or where to buy them would be good, not a problem ordering from the US, probably be cheaper than 'rip-off britain'!!! ....and if anybody has one for sale please post. Car is a 173BHP '94 ST202 GT model. Ta Muchly BJA

lo.. i'm in the UK.. have you thought about a custom jobbie - powerflow or such like.. a full system will cost you about £350.. whereas an aftermarket will cost you about £500 (i've got a Blitz Realize TT on my GT) which i got cheap tho...

if you can find one in stock, get the Greddy SP. It sounds awesome. i get a lot of compliments on mine.

What I did was order a Sebring Muffler, then get custom piping and had the resonator removed. Sounds really deep, as deep or deeper than the SP.

Thanks people, I'll have a look at that celicaclub site...
Like the sound of the Sebring with resonator removed....I assume thats the centre box?? Who ever asked for photo's....they are there now. I can get a Mongoose in the UK for 339 Pounds and I'd assumed they'd be tuned to get the best performance from the car rather than a 'made-up' system which might be a bit of guess work. Any thoughts on whether you can remove the CAT without causing problems?? Thanks BJA |

The mongoose isn't bad but if you ask around a custom job can be a better option - you can 'tune' it for the sound you want.. Also i'm not a fan of the twin pipe design it has. A Blitz like mine is a nice one - but it'll set you back about £500. Have a look at Dazza's twin exit jobbie... then tell me you don't appreciate a custom exhaust. Or JonBoyGB's custom exhaust. A custom exhaust won't be a 'guesswork' installation - they know what they're doing - as long as they use good quality stainless steel, and have a decent diameter of pipe and it's as straight as possible you will notice a difference. There's a cracking Powerflow place in Burnley (Good for tyres as well !) - shouldn't be too far from you.. (can also recommend Airedale Toyota in Silsden - we get a club discount there on services parts etc...) Re the CAT removal - it can be done - it's only 4 bolts and you'll release a few bhp.. but it will need to be swapped back onto the car each time you need to go for an MOT - also check your insurance company are ok with its removal.. they will use it as an excuse not to pay out should something unfortunate happen. My buddies have the N1 on a Prelude H23 and a 240sx KA24DE. They sound similar to each other, although it's not as deep as my Sebring. The N1 sounds a bit high pitched and screaming when the Prelude "guns it." When the 240sx shifts gears, it sorta gurgles inbetween shifts, it sounds tight. But I personally wouldn't get the N1 because when you floor it, it sounds like crap. The Tanabe Hyper Medallion on a B18A motor sounds high pitched when you're driving normally. -------------------- [toyota]

for my exhaust set up.... i have a Magnaflow exhaust (120) for it, bought a new cat(75)...then went and had a shop put on 2.25 custom piping on there...sounds nice and deep and did i mention louder then sh!t

What cat did u get...is it a high flow cat...i too have a magnaflow, thinkin onf gettin a high-flow cat + 2.25 piping.... need tp know what is a good high flow cat to use.. |
