Can anyone tell me how much a difference in ride quality there is between 16x7 and 17x8in wheels? Is it even noticeable? I'd be putting on the thickest tire possible without rubbing (235/45 or 225/50?). I plan on lowering in the future.

I prefer the second one, tell me what you think

there is a noticeable difference, but 17 x8 as long as you put a beefy tire on it, the set-up wont be too harsh, I do prefer 16s but that's me, 17s will be fine as well.

alright thats what i'm afraid of. The smallest the second one comes in is 17x8 +35. How big of a tire can I fit before rubbing occurs? 235/45?

i have 17x8 +32
235/45 i'd say is going to rub for sure
a guy had 235/40/17s on 17x8 +35 with teins and he rubbed pretty bad until he rolled the fenders
i think 225/45s would be comfy enough, i have 215/45s and they arent harsh, but they will be when i get coilovers

but i'd def go with the rp03, i was considering them, they are very light and made in japan smile.gif

Well those wheels didn't quite cut it for me after seeing them. I am however considering these two:

Kyowa kr210
17x7 et 38. I'm concerned that the offset is too high and they will look bad sucked in example

OZ Crono HT
17x8 et 35. The spokes on these seem to be pretty skinny, I dont' know how well it'll look with the curves of a celica example

What do you guys think?

biggest wheel/rubber combo that will fit on a celica is a 18x8.5 rim with 235/45/18 rubber, before rolling your fenders!

Wouldn't worry too much about the harshness, you'll get used to it.

I've got 18's on my TT and the ride is fine.
