So, I just wanted to inform anyone who is looking for a fmic kit, check out ebay. Type in celica st205 and it will come up with a couple kits, but don't buy the xspower kit from ss autochrome its most likely garbage, I bought a downpipe from them and the welds were pretty bad. There is a kit that ebay seller jithk sells, I just ordered it from him and recieved it on monday, it's pretty nice and now I don't have to go through all the b.s. of tryin to put a kit together. Well, check it out if your interested.

so wait, you bought the kit, but havent installed it. how do you know it actually FITS?
and your saying how good it is? what is the quality of the material used for the piping? are the ends of each pipe beaded? do the pipes actually fit properly? how are the pipes supossed to be routed? what is the quality of the couplers and clamps? (and are the proper amount of each peice needed included?) what size is the IC? how does it mount? how well does it actually COOL? all questions that need to be answered before you can actually speak to the "quality" of any "kit" on ebay. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Does it come with t clamps or those crappy clamps(idk wat else to call them) I guess I spoke to soon about the quality, but to answer some of pressure2's questions, the ic pipes are made of aluminum, core size is about 20"by12"by 4", it has t clamps and the couplers are silicone made by a company called autobahn88 and yes it came with what it shows in the picture on ebay minus the silicone reducer they show holding on the bov and the silicone hose that goes to the vacuum line. I let you guy's know how it fits when I actually install it. |

I was actually looking at the SSauto one. Let me know if this one is worth the higher price. There is one by snaiconcept as well.

This is an FMIC made for a Nissan S14/S15 hybrid, me and my friend took off the old bumper reinforcement and made a new one that holds the I/C. It IS Xspower, but I looked it up before I bought it because I've heard of their reputation, and I intentionally bought one that I'm sure they've sold a lot of (considering how many of these cars I've seen around with aftermarket turbo kits), I searched hard to try to find something bad about it and from what I read they can hold up to 40 psi, since I'm sure they've made a lot of these for the Nissan guys, it seems like it would be pretty solid. I never found anything bad about this particular one. The welds look pretty solid, but they haven't held pressure yet because I'm still waiting to get money for my turbo. I bought this two years ago on ebay, I don't remember the seller, it came with decreasing diameter stainless steel piping, but crappy bends on the 90, it was two welded 45's, not a mandrel 90 or even a crush bend 90, it was a very short 3 inch 90 bend though, maybe that's why. I'll have to have my own piping made because this is a longitudinal mounted engine, so the turbo is on the side of the engine, verses my celica which is transversly mounted and the turbo is on the front. I traded the piping for a header for my bike. As far as how the I/C piping will be routed, I'll have to cut some holes for the piping to be as direct as I want it to be, but I don't care, I'll reinforce something if I have to cut through it. I'll probably look into getting an EVO I/C piping kit because it's a FMIC transverse mounted engine just like my celica will be when it's done. But this is an option if you guys know how to weld.
Oh yeah, and please excuse the eclipse hood that's sitting in place of the celica hood. I set it there so it wouldn't get scratched. This post has been edited by match220: Jul 26, 2009 - 12:33 AM -------------------- -Jay
