From my understanding, you're turbo'ing a 3S-GTE? I thought that wasn't possible because of weak internals...
...but I'm sure I read the posts wrong, it's almost 2 in the morning. -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

I meant 3S-GE, like he said here:
... last info is that 3rd gen 3SGE engine is now disassembled and cleaned. When all engine parts are here assembling should begin... I'm assuming he just missed the T. -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

I have bought 3rd gen 3SGE. Engine will be disassembled, cleaned, rebored and forged internals will be used. Than turbocharged... so finally I will have fully build 3SGTE capable to hold 600HP*. I want to be sure what I have inside and do not re-seal o re-build engine each 2 years...
*it will finally run less so do not panic -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)

so finally I will have fully build 3SGTE capable to hold 600HP*. [/size] Im not doubting you, but how much HP are you aiming for? And a question to your answer. Wont there be wheelspin? -------------------- |

so finally I will have fully build 3SGTE capable to hold 600HP*. Im not doubting you, but how much HP are you aiming for? And a question to your answer. Wont there be wheelspin? My aim is not clear so far... Engine will be definitely tuned in two-three steps (engine running-up will be at 250-300bhp about). When car will be running tuned to the max depends on budget. I do not want run fully tuned car on stock ST brakes. So before that I want brake upgrade, install some more braces to make car body more stiff and buy wider tires. That's bit about aim... and wheel spin? We will see... I have great exemplars here to follow and learn from Batman722: 335whp Alan: 370bhp (~315whp) Presure2: 307whp -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)

22nd of July, 2009 update:
$hit happens... I have no words. News from grinding shop (of what should I call place where engine is re-bored). Crank is useless... I need new crank or another 129kW 3SGE engine. And I need it fast... -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)

What are your reasons for starting with a 3SGE over a 3SGTE?

What are your reasons for starting with a 3SGE over a 3SGTE? To buy 3rd gen 3SGTE here is impossible... (cuz ST205 was not officially for sale here). There are available only some 2nd gen 3SGTEs from ST185 for price like $2000-2500. I had a lot of discussions with my technician here and finally decided for buying 129kW 3rd gen. 3SGE, rebuild and turbo it. Price of 3SGE like that is about $1000 here. That is the main reason why. -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)

Some of my goodies for 3SGE might help!!! Thank you for support. I know you have tons of it... . Today I may have another engine. Everything depends on condition of crank. So fingers crossed. -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)

27th of July, 2009... final update:
with almost tears in my eyes I must say it's over. Another two tries to get useful engine and nothing. I can not handle that anymore. My technician is not able to hold budget, timing and what we have agreed. So I have spend $6750 for parts so far but it's useless now...now I must think what to do. However this project is over . -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)
